2020 G63, installed a Akrapovic exhaust! Loving it!
No such button on the older version so anyone who upgrades to the Akrapovic would have to buy the option remote control is my guess...or does the system allow you to just leave it in the open position permanently?
So on your new exhaust there is an electrical connection or plug somewhere that has to be connected for a motor to physically control opening and closing of the valves ?

To keep things simple and fail safe, I would want the open at all times mode like you had on your car. What is the the point of turning down the volume of the exhaust after spending the money and time to modify it 😁
OP purchased them from @CClement who had purchased them from me. By the time it reached Craig (CClement) he didn't need them any longer so he sold them brand new at a reduced cost. I have special deals for all MB World members on the Akrapovic exhaust.
@mrtonyn The Akrapovic mufflers (named Evolution Lines) shed 30+ lbs over the factory mufflers. To swap these in only a few clamps & bolts are removed; no cutting or welding involved. For the Akrapovic downpipes (named Front Link Pipe Set) cutting of the factory downpipes are required just so that they slide out of the engine bay. These would have to be welded back together if the SUV ever needs yo be put back to stock.
In the video below we did a combination of Akra muffler, DME Tune, & Renntech downpipes. Our client chose Renntech because at the time the Akra downpipes were months out. These mods resulted in 150+ hp & ft-lbs. I have package deals for those interested in these mods.

Great explanation. Thanks.
So if I just replace with Akrapovic mufflers and DME tune, how much HP and torque gain ?
Besides additional power gain with the downpipes installed, what is the sound difference between with and without installing the downpipes?
Thanks
Upgrading the downpipes gives you much more power than upgrading the mufflers. From a sound perspective, the mufflers add more grunt & decibals to the overall sound level. The downpipes would add the turbo spools & whistles. If you're doing one of the two & accompanying it with the tune then there's not much reason not to do the other.

I got sidetracked by the holidays/new year and then getting rear ended but now Im finally ready to pull the trigger and make this happen already.
Did you consider the iPE? I can't recall exactly which model I was looking at but it was not just the mufflers but would not require a tune.
Here is a link to the sound clip I posted it on YouTube, it’s short I’ll take a better one later:

I have the option right now to buy the slip on mufflers used. The last owner had the sound kit as well. It looks like a lot of work to install the sound kit vs just slipping on the mufflers. Trying to find folks that have one or both and get sound clips has been challenging. Any insight from your experience would be great!
Thanks in advance!
