Dealer offered me a 2020 coming in a couple months at 6k off msrp in Western Canada. I've done alot of business with them throughout the years but I chose to pass on that as I have a 2021 g63 already ordered from them expected by end of the year and I'd rather just have the newest model year that and it was missing a few of the options I wanted (red leather /amg steering wheel buttons and bush guard).

Oh and apparently they aren't doing discounts at all, they are selling all G550s and G63s at full retail.
I was just able to negotiate a small discount because I'm a loyal customer of the dealership. I've
purchased a C230, C63, CLA250, GLE350d and C43 from them. This will be my 6th vehicle from them
so I think I deserved a little something

Yes I've got it all in writing but I won't repost it as the sales person and gm are good friends of ours. And we pay 25% tax here on vehicle purchases above 150k so the tax alone is over 55k.

I don’t mean to throw stones, but when I saw 4.59% as the discounted rate I cringed. Have you looked at financing alternatives outside of MB? I landed 1.99% for 7 years from my local credit union. I never financed a car longer than four years before, but I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the terms.

You're right 4.59 is terrible, especially today with what's going on but it's interesting to hear the comments how no matter what is going on, financing for Gs wont be reduced. In Canada they treat you like you are lucky to get a G and if you dont like the posted rate, too bad because those who buy Gs dont care about interest rates. I'm not really sure that's the case cuz it matters to me. Buying a 170k suv might be senseless to some in today's economic climate but at the same time, we've all worked very hard to get to a point where a G is even in the equation. I think everything is a factor and can't assume that it's only the rich and famous who buys these cars. Who cares? I do.

Been searching for an order allocation, saw two orders that owners cancelled due to current economic climate. Dealer still wants 40-50K over sticker, thought it was beyond ridiculous. They posted it on here at sticker. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...5571/overview/ said they were willing to hold it as someone will pay over in the next 6 months. Also told me the wait on a new order will now be approaching 2 years...

Ya from what I've heard, alot of cancellations but dealers are still bringing them in with the hopes to get more
than what they had originally sold them for. My dealer told me that if I don't want mine, he's fine with that because
he has a list of people waiting that he can call. The thing is, I bet that list has shrunk dramatically given what's going
on. Those phone calls to these on the list might not go as the dealer thinks they will.
