This is my second G. Sold my 2017 G63 because I wanted to modify it more for remote work, camping, etc. and found the AMG was better suited for the road. This is a 2010 G550 and tons of work going on before the end of the month. Just spent 20 hours this past weekend doing a full paint correction and interior reconditioning. GOBI Rack system went on Monday, rooftop tent, fridge, portable power system installed this weekend. Then next week is 4" suspension lift, 35x1250 tires and new wheels, then wrapped up with a full Pioneer sound system.
I'll post up next weekend when all the work is complete!
Just picked up a G55 to build up..... excited to be back in the fold and have a backup extraction vehicle for our built 80 series ...... posted lot's of parts in classifieds if anyone's looking for OEM grille guards, rims/tires etc..
working to get baseline and suspension on in the next few weeks and an ARB bumper and rack on it...
a picture of it in it's natural habitat....and our 80.... measurements show that the ARB rack should fit.... will test when I get home next weekend... ARB really doesn't support the G but I like their prodcut and lack of "AMG tarriff"......

Hey Limey - it's been a long while but very excited to start on this one as it's easier to set up the way I want..... Hoping to fast track the build a bit so it can do a trip to Maine in May and Telluride/ Ouray in June or July...
How's your rig doing ? Haven't seen pics of it recently....
We'll have to do a meet up in TX one of these days.... I'm happy to come north or meet in Big Bend...(once it cools back down...)
Hi E, yeah, been busy this year so far. No real plans for a real road trip so far with these gas prices making it that much more expensive I will eventually head out to NM and CO again at some point, also want to do a big trip out to Yellowstone sometime soon.
A Texas meet-up would be great if we can get enough interest!
yes- my folks just shook their head at the G55 purchase.... now we have two DD's that are lucky to get double digit MPG....... luckily biz is picking up and I can use some of the travel as client visits....
