G63 Auto Start/Stop - Eco Mode (2013-2018 W463)
Hello fellow G owners,
I am curious, does Auto start/stop Eco mode work in your G63’s during the winter months? Ive noticed that mine does not work during winter months or during cold weather . In fact, I’m pretty sure the system did not kick in once this entire past winter. However as soon as summer rolls around or the weather gets warmer it starts kicking in again.
I know the system checks multiple conditions before kicking in ( inside temperature has been reached , seatbelt is buckled etc)

Not surprising if you live in a cold climate. Three of the things the system checks are air temp, engine temp and catalyst temp. If it is too cold the system will leave the engine running to keep the catalyst warm so that you don't have increased emissions on restart.
BTW, if you want to rid yourself of the auto start/stop annoyance, Mid City Engineering offers a solution: https://www.midcityengineering.com/p...es-benz-eco212 . I put in in for a friend - it works great and it's like driving a real car again.

Mine 2018. Does not often go on the Eco during winter on cold days. (Montreal weather)
from memory the Eco works around -10C when the car is warm enough.

It may be a good thing if it is not working.., that feature is so lame, especially on an AMG.
seriously how much gas is being saved? More wear and tear on the starter than anything.
