used 19/20 G550s
Has anyone been buying these? I see all the same ones listed at what now are ridiculous prices (anywhere from 2k-20k+ miles listed for new MSRP). If they aren't moving at those prices what will it take? If new 2020 G550s are selling at MSRP or sitting on the lots, no reason these should go for anything over 100k. Obviously they are not getting their ask

Current MSRP in the US is over $130k and that is base with no optional packages at all. Even if they are used, they won't be sub $100k. The cheapest used one here in Canada is $170k CAD. Base price is Canada for a G550 is $149k. So basically they are selling them for retail price, used or not. My dealer told me this week that up here, it's now a 2 year wait for a custom build. I'm not sure how true that is but there is no supply and when that's the case, you can get alot more for a used vehicle.

I’ve been in the market for new and used. New can be had at msrp at a lot of dealers. I think asking 15-20k off msrp is fair in today’s market for a 550 for used. 63’s are the only ones holding near or above msrp for used.

Guess what dealers are paying for those looking to sell there G550's currently. I don't think I'm far off at all. G63's used with mileage at msrp while they can. Dealers will sell at msrp if you do your work.

Dealers never pay top dollar for any model and the G is no exception. Trust me, I've looked to trade in 2 different models
of Mercedes over the past year, wasn't pretty. Can get a much more reasonable price selling privately.

Agreed. However more people these days in the states have access to the auctions, where dealers and private parties are buying these nowadays. So I guess its a matter of who you know.

I took a quick look on Manheim for sales in April:
2 2019 G550s, one for $115k and one for $120k
1 2020 G550 sold for $130k
Based on that the wholesale discount from MSRP (depending on options, etc.) is on the high end around $10,000.
Right now it seems that it will be impossible to get $15k to $20k off MSRP... of course might change going forward but even based off of the small sample size here on the forum, people are still buying and there is still demand.

Haha if used 2019 G550s were selling sub $100k I'd already have one in my driveway. In all seriousness the lowest one I've seen online was $121k and that was with heavy miles I believe, like 30k+.

Granted I havent been aggressively shopping, but all this insistence that dealers are in a position to get whatever they want can turn quickly. Not that long ago that people were paying $50k+ markups on 63s.

I'm not saying any of these 2019's will sell below 100k at this point, however any advertised car at 125k - 130k (used) right now do you really think someone is motivated to buy at only 5k off in today's economy? Just say the 2019's msrp is somewhere between 130-140k, and the base msrp of a 2019 is less then a 2020, (124,500 vs 130,090), 10k in options just say, how much the car is already depreciated. Advertised is great but actual sales is another. BTW the lowest I've seen was a lightly optioned car on the east coast and had 20k miles was asking $115k.
