My 08 G55 states Occupants and cargo should not exceed 942lbs.
As far as how much can be safely loaded just in the cargo area over the rear axel it doesn't explicitly state on the door jam.
What are you thinking of hauling?

I'm looking for an overlander. The plan is to start with a ground tent, but I may want to go with a trailer in the future. The trailer I have picked out (Nash 17k) has a GVWR of 7,000 lbs so that would put the tongue weight at ~700 lbs fully loaded.

Im moving up to Seattle in the coming months and looking to get into a bit of overlanding as well. Grabbing a roofrack here soon just to be able to have more storage and opted for a Gazelle T4 Hub tent that I'm trying to find time to take out and test out.
On the fence re: a rooftop tent since my wife and I will likely camp w our Great Dane and I don't see her chilling in the truck if we're on the roof.
Would be cool to see that big of a trailer hooked up to a G!
