Hi - I'm thinking about putting in an aftermarket exhaust with a valve to open close for sound. For those who have this installed in their car, where are you getting the negative vacuum line to hook up for the mufflers? In my R8 it was easy as the OEM mufflers had a valve already, but with the W463 I'm just wondering where to put a "T" joint to get the vacuum? I see a line going into the master cylinder - with some lines coming off of it. Any other place that closer to the mufflers? Do the diff locks use vacuum lines?
Assume most afternarket mufflers would need access to the vacuum lines.....
Not sure what you are after but I will be selling the sport mufflers off my 2020 G550 that is arriving in a couple weeks. It uses actuators though so that may not be compatible with your model.
Akrapovic has really detailed install instructions on their site for 2017 G63s. They come off the brake booster, so I’m assuming that’s the best location.

Cool! Super helpful seeing the Akrapovic install! Looks like the at the brake booster its just capped off and if you take the cap off you can attach the vacuum like off of that. They even show you where the vacuum lines should get snaked thru the underneath to the mufflers! I'm thinking about a Quicksilver with just the remote on/off switch, but still need to hook up a vacuum line. This is perfect. Thx!
So I installed a set of QuickSilver exhaust yesterday with the vacuum valves and used the Akrapovic install instructions to do the vacuum lines!! If anyone is interested I can take a video of the Quicksilvers on a 2017 G63 - pretty cool also that you can program the fob to your homelink buttons on the mirror to do the close and open of the valves! Pretty straight forward install...only think I'm trying to modify now is that when you shut the car off it always defaults back to open! Either need to find a module that remembers the last setting or maybe a solenoid thats normal state is open....
If any one is interested in my old set, please IM me. Don't want to ship, but if you anyone can make it up to MA you'll get a great deal!! I have taken a Eurowise set and took out their muffler for Flomaster 50 (no drone at all and one of their quietest mufflers). Deeper and a little louder than the OEM!! I just wanted to valved version to turn on and off, but if you want louder this will give you that!!!
Also, if anyone is interested in the FloMasters setup above, please PM me. Pretty much just need it out of my basement, so if you can come pick them up they are yours!!!
