For my ‘20 G63, for tint, went 40% windows to match factory, 70% front windshield... Sun Tech film for entire front, around windshield, mirrors etc... very happy!
The limit here in Mass is 35% transmission for the front side windows and except for the top 6 inches, the windshield is a no no. The annual inspection stations have a light transmission meter and if your car is tinted, they will measure it. My previous G measured 38% and they let me go the first year, but after that, I had to remove the tint from the side windows (what a pain that was).

NJ inspections luckily dont bother failing you because of tint... they dont bother
I had legal tint done in Florida when I bought my RRS, but when I moved to NC it failed inspection with the tint meter. Had to get it redone to legal which is 35% here.
I see vehicles all the time around here with like 15-20% and wonder who passes them but oh well, not worth the hassle.
