Valentine 1 Gen 2 Mount

I know this has been discussed a little bit and creative ideas have been made with velcro. I was wondering if anyone has checked into Blend Mounts Standard mount 2001R Series, BV1-2001R. It's not listed, but i think it can be used to mount my radar detector. Just wondering if anyone has actually purchased this? I have reached out to them to find out. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have a BlendMount (BV1-2000R) for my V1 gen2 in my wife's Odyssey. I bought it for the first generation a few years ago, but it fits the second generation as well. That 2000R was for "American and Asian" vehicles so maybe the 2001 works for Benz?

However, due to the windshield won't the radar effectiveness be diminished unless it's near the cut out at the top to the right of the rear view mirror?

Oh Yea. I did read on a previous thread that someone didn't use the cut out and it was fine. I don't know which is true or not. I am assuming the front has a layer on it. I would think its the same as going through the back tinted part. These are radar waves and laser so it shouldn't make a difference?

I'll have to see if anyone chimes in or just try it myself. Glad to know the mounts fits Gen 1 and 2.

Some say it works just fine but I guess you can test it on any roads where there's known radar.

Are you hard wiring the radar detector into the overhead console or running wires to the fuses under the passenger seat?

I would usually use the mirror tap and connect into the dimmer, but from what I am reading this won't work, so I will have to run the wire to the fuse in the rear passenger side fuse box. I am also installing a laser Jammer (AL Priority), so I will run wire to there also. I won't be personally doing the work, but just letting my tech know whats going on. I just got my car 3 days ago, so I am getting things lined up for all my mods.

My S550 had two interference free windows on the windshield. I parked and aimed the car at a fixed signal source, a grocery store several blocks away with my V1 and it did show significant reduced signal strength when not at either of the two locations. I don’t know if the glass formulation is the same but it’s easy enough to test on the G. I don’t think the rear glass is the same because it is tinted to reduce the solar gain. I ended up buying the remote readout and put it on the steering wheel column.

This is interesting. I didn't really understand the windshield and the opening. I do see an opening on the passenger side and nothing on the driver's side. It looks like I have to use that opening then and cannot read the displace and would most likely have to put the concealed unit also on the dash some where. Thanks for your insight regarding this.
