Retrofit Steering Wheel Sport buttons on w463a G63

Does anyone know what might be involved in retrofitting the buttons onto a car that doesn’t come with it?
I saw they sell the hardware here https://schawe-shop.de/en/mercedes-b...-mercedes-benz

but is this all that’s needed?

I'd ask my local dealer's service people because I was told that it isn't possible to retrofit the AMG Drive Unit controls into a vehicle that doesn't already have it.

If I could pull that off here in the US on a W213 E63s I just might be in an AMG sooner than I expected. Much obliged Tristanyeo thanks for the input. I wonder why the service guys here in the States said it wasn't possible and if they are aware of the recoding step. I'd like to know just how that conversation went between you and the service department.

I looked at the part difference and knew it's possible. I then asked my local dealer as well as sales. They said it's not possible. I later found out that the reason why they said that was because they didnt dismantle a steering wheel before and had not done it. I wrote to daimler germany whom confirmed with AMG it can be done (after I passed them my VIN).

I forward the email to the local dealer. And the local dealer had to write to a dept called "MBupgrades" in germany to get permission.

Once they gave the go ahead, I sent my car in after the parts were in.
