Front Axel Noise (2007 G55)

Success! After may weekends sitting idle, my truck is back on the road. The second side was done by memory (except for torque specs). Not difficult, but time consuming and messy. I did forget to put the swipe seal on before the housing and had it all torqued down before realizing causing an hour delay. The truck drives fine.
One issue is that I was not able to get any play whatsoever on either side. I think it is due to the amount of grease I used effectively locking the hub up. I torqued to 200nm and backed off 1/4 turn (90 degrees). I'm going to drive it 25 miles, get it up to highway speed, and re-check it. I managed to not break the abs sensors, but I did break the brake pad wear sensors, so I have to put those on when I re-check the hub nuts.
I do hate big jobs like this. Despite being slow and careful, I always have some negative thoughts in the back of my mind as to the reliability of the repair. That drives me crazy. Maybe it will pass one I get a thousand miles on the repair.

I am having the same issue: "While driving 20-30 miles per hour, if you put slight left turn pressure on the wheel, you will feel a slight wear/grinding."
I just want to clarify: you replaced both your CV joints and ordered a new axle assembly for the left side due to the CV jointing breaking during removal and a new CV joint for the right side for which you used the Right Axle donated to you by Black Forrest? But was the actual cause of the noise caused by just bad wheel bearings on the right side? Basically I want to know if just replacing the wheel bearings (on both sides) of my G500 might fix the problem. I don't think I have any issues with my CV Joints (no clicking during turns, just that slight grinding when applying slight left turn pressure on the steering wheel).

The bearing/axel surfaces were pitted in mine and that was causing the feeling while driving. I attempted a service on the cv joints, and I wound up damaging it, so I replaced them. Could have just done the bearing/axel.

Thanks for the quick reply! I am sorry I am being a little thick skulled here, but are you saying that since both the bearing and axle surfaces were pitted, both the wheel bearings and the axles themselves needed to be replaced? And where did you source the axles? Pelican parts doesn't seem to offer them (or the CV Joints or the wheel bearings!).

Well...I listened to my dealer mb tech who stated it was the right side. I rebuilt the right side and went for a drive to have my heart sink as the issue was still there. I then jacked up the left side and it had a huge amount of play. I was upset by that. I then did that side and saw the pitted axel surface.
