These are really nice 17" steelies. They'll let you run bigger tires for a more offroad look.

Don't worry about the drilling for light guard, the headlight covers are plastic and easily replaceable.
You could also grab turn signal guards to match. These have a bottom plate with holes that line up with the existing turn signal screws, so you won't need to drill into the fender.

I purchased an aftermarket window regular (with motor) on amazon. No issues after a year of using them daily. Don't forget to order new plastic door clips.

Thank you! Good point regarding the headlight covers. Good to know.

The rust spot by your windshield doesn't look that great. Best would be to treat it right away but you probably have some time before it does real damage. Fixing will involve removing the windshield, grinding the rust out or eating it away with acid, then refinishing the surface and rust proofing, then repaint. It's a tedious process for sure. Search for the long thread about rust to give you a better idea of what to look out for, how to fix it, and how to prevent more from forming.

The steelies are a great touch. They give off the look of a beadlock and being utilitarian. Main issue would be clearing the brakes and the offset. 463 Industries is coming out with an 18" beadlock wheel that looks awesome. Jackwagon also has 16" and 18" beadlock that look great.

This one you posted is from a late model W463 non-AMG with color changed to Black. They only come in 19's so off road tires will be difficult to come by.

Thank you for your note!

Does Benz service handle the rust issue? I’m more than ok with handing this off to them. Any experience with indies being capable of doing this or any sort of body shop? Rather handle it sooner than later.

The worst thing that can happen is they say no. The rust thread is here:

https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w...lass-rust.html

MB and the dealers know about the rust issue on all W463 G-Class trucks. It's their choice to honor a warranty for it or not. Also, their work may vary depending on the dealer's experience with mitigating/correcting rust. There really is no way around a full correction and thorough inspection/treatment of all affected areas. A few members (with newer models) have had luck with getting dealers to fix, but with varying results. The rust on my truck body isn't bad, so when I address it, I will be doing a complete treatment and finding the best shop to do it (or doing it myself). Spending the money on it once (per area) would be the best course of action if you plan on keeping it for a long time.

Nice truck and congrats. Keep us posted on the rust issue and resolve. Common problem with G's.
