Is anyone making 200 cell catted down-pipes for the new G63? I know OP said they are making catless, but I don't want the smell and issues with passing emissions every year. Did that with my wife's last G63 and, while it sounded awesome, I got tired of messing with the ECU to get it to pass emissions.

I believe RennTech are making 200 CEL down pipes. I just removed the OPF filter and kept the CAT, trust me it’s plenty loud enough when you do that! Akrapovic exhaust with link pipes, so the OPF had to be removed and a remap up to 730BHP. Zero issues..

Can you pass emissions with that set up? The sound clip you added sounded great. Very reminiscent of the catless set up with cut out exhaust I had on my wife's last G63.

Yes you can pass as long as you don’t remove the CAT.

Exhaust and link pipe fitted with OPF removed, sound amazing and 730BHP later.

Exhaust fitted & OPF still in place, the sound was still very disappointing.

Is there a bung in the OPF delete pipe for the sensor, or do you just not even plug that back into the system? I assume your tune was the work aroud for the sensor if it's no longer in the system. Do US vehicles have OPF, or just european models? I haven't even gotten under there to look at it.

I believe US vehicles have OPF’s but maybe you can check yours? I would be interested in knowing.

Regarding the sensors, they are all active just recalibrated in-line with the tune. I’ve had no issue with my work, just a G that sounds much better than the standard G!

I think I only have a cat, not an OPF. Unless the cat is way up near the motor the only thing I see is the muffler and what looks like a cat.

That is the OPF filter, the CAT is up towards the top of the header pipe. Well that’s where it was on my European G Wagon. So in order it is the exhaust muffler, OPF, link pipe, header pipe and then the CAT. This must be the same for your US model. The reason for my certainty is: The RennTech 200CEL CAT, shows it right at the top of the header pipes. I hope this helps, Im the kind of guy that does a crap load of research before pulling the trigger on these kind of things! I’m certainly much happier with my motor since I’ve had the work done. I will try and upload a cold start video of the sound - it’s awesome!

One last thing OPF’s only became mandatory from Sep 2018. Hence Akrapovic offer a with OPF and without OPF exhaust system. I think some of the new Gs have them and some don’t but that’s second hand information.

After looking around a bit I see that Akropovic offers two exhausts for the W463A as you said. One is for OPF/GPF equipped vehicles, and the other is not. Both offer the link pipe like you added, but I think US models have two cats instead of a cat and an OPF. I found another bypass kit from Fabspeed that says it deletes/bypasses the 2nd cat on W463A models. That's how I deduced US models have two cats instead of an OPF. I don't see the 200 cel cat downpipes on the Renntech page any longer, so I'm going to reach out to them today to ask if they still offer them. I'll report back what I find.

Thanks for posting. 1/4mi is a full second and 9mph quicker than stock from the C&D results. Pretty solid gains.
