Front camera blocked by bull bar...

Am I able to remove the front bull bar from a 2020 g500 and activist the front parking and surround camera system?

You can remove the bull bar but from what I know there is no camera, just a dummy location as on my 2020 G550. And if you do so there are threads on brush bar removal and covers for the holes in the top of the bumper.

Got it, thanks Bob.

I had saw on a review that the G550s come with the front camera, but that it is deactivated. (Seemed odd to me, but figured I would ask)

There is a hard cover over mine, where the lens would go so there is not a camera on mine. I wish we had the option to choose here in the US as they do in Canada, where one can get the front camera or the brush bar (but not both).

Nothing to add here other than piling on to the thread that the lack of a camera solution on the front bumper is nothing short of preposterous. There was clearly a meeting in a conference room somewhere and the final acceptable solution to this issue was we don't need a front end camera on our off road version of the G Wagon. Head scratcher.

all G550s with the bull bar installed do not come with a camera. it looks like a camera from far away but is actually a dummy.

my G550 (Canadian) has the 360 cam but i do not have the bull bar option. if you select the bull bar option, you cannot have a 360 cam installed. its one or the other but you cannot spec both at the same time. i chose to get a camera and forgo the bull bar.

Which is exactly as I would have done here in the US if it optional here! I wish they would at least have it available as a plug-n-play unit here in the US for those of that remove the front bar!

yes i think they should have made the bull bar optional in the US. i am sure a lot of folks would have ordered the camera instead. the camera option is C$590 and the bull bar is C$1400. it was a no brainer for me. i dont have much use for a bull bar but the camera comes in handy all the time.
