W464 G63 - How do I replace the air filters?
Saw this video from reputable YouTuber with engineering background scientifically proving a real world 2-3% increase in HP/Tq and 0-60 time.
I would add to the instructions above:
For the engine cover there are a total of 6 press-fit attachments (3 along each side, left and right) that hold the cover in place. They come up fairly easy.
Once cover is off I would loosen large silver ring clamp around the largest hose that is located medially to the airbox first with a flat head screw driver.
Second loosen small black rubber hose feeding The airbox from the front with a pair of heavy pliers. This clamp is tuff. Will need heavy pliers. Hose dose not need to come off, only slip back off of airbox enough to provide slack.
Then with a size 25 torx wrench unscrew 4 screws. All located facing upward on the box. Loosen until they spin freely. Should not come out entirely.
Then pull up gently on the airbox lid from the front. (Caution not to disconnect/displace the electrical connections located at the rear of the airbox.) Two press-fit attachments should come loose in consecutive order. This allows the front of the box to come up enough to slide out the paper air filter (I did it in pieces as it tore with little resistance) and slide in the K&N filter. The K&N filter slides in much more easily as it is thinner than the original paper one.
Will report back with my driving experience.
