Hi, does anyone know how long it typically takes once it hits the port to get to the dealership?

Thanks!

Ask your local dealer since there are too many variables and not enough info provided to make a guess. It depends on where a dealer is in regards to the port the vehicle arrives and how long it stays at the VPC, but 2-4 weeks is probably the norm.

they also need a full truck going that direction, they’re not going to send a truck with one vehicle on it. If you’re lucky, it won’t sit at the port long.

I just received my G63 yesterday, finally. It arrived in Baltimore on 8/10, but somehow it took longer than I can ever imagine. But hey I'm happy, it's worth the wait. It'll get to you no matter what!

If it's a new model year, the biggest variable is release after CARB certification. MB submits models for certification on a schedule determined by marketing. If it's a model that isn't certified until December, for instance, a car can sit at the VPC for months. But that's only an issue for cars built early in the model's year.

I found out today, my 2021 G 63 has been produced and is waiting to go by rail from the factory to be placed on a ship to Baltimore.

You might ask your salesman if they have received the 2021 release matrix yet. That's when you find out when MB will submit the model for CARB certification, which will determine when the car's "detention" in Baltimore will end.

This is a good site to bookmark:
https://ww3.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad.../2021/2021.php

Each line represents an "executive order," or the approval to sell that model. As you start seeing Daimler lines appear, click on them and scroll down to see what models that EO covers. When G63 appears, your car will be shipped out the Baltimore lot. But the matrix that MB gives their dealers about now is usually pretty accurate in stating which models will be submitted for EO when. When I got my E63, they weren't released until December. Some people here had their cars waiting in Baltimore or Long Beach for months and there was a lot of cursing going on.

Thanks, one of the owners of the dealership called me today and neither him or the GM knows when Mercedes is going to release the 2021 model. If anyone knows, please share.

They'll be the first to know. Make sure they know you want to hear from them as soon as Mercedes provides the 2021 release matrix.
