2019 G63 Lurching while in "P"ark

Has anyone else noticed that when the G is idling in Park mode the car will on occasion lurch forward every few minutes. I've noticed this a few times now and its very consistent. I'm almost always in S+ so need to check this out. But I'd say it happens every 4-6 minutes at idle. It's subtle but the first few times I literally had to look around to see if someone tapped my bumper while parking//// so its not that subtle. Living in NorCal I actually thought it was an earthquake, again, not that subtle. Need to test in C drive mode to see if it does it there as well. Anyway, I'm taking the G63 in to the dealer for a few recall items and my brakes are squealing like crazy and I plan on mentioning this issue to them as well. Curious if anyone else experienced this?

thanks

could you share your service receipt regarding the squealing brakes? My dealer won’t do it, he said the brake pad is not cover under warranty, and AMG pads suppose have little squeaking noise, that just sound like BS to me. Thanks

no pads changed, unlike what some others have said but squealing is gone for now. See attached on the work done

It appears the pads were glazed over. This can be resolved by bedding the brakes or just a few higher speed stops.

Last week I had the brake pads changed on an e53 no charge. It was the first A service and I told them about brake noise. The SA told me there was an outstanding issue with several models with noisy brakes and I’m pretty sure he the G was in the list. Mercedes picked up the tab for the new pads.

Here are good options for low dust pads with no reported noise: https://www.apcautotech.com/automoti...s-benz/g63-amg

@KKG63AMG try driving fast then slam on the brakes a few times. Worked for me for a while.
if I later drive slow and gently apply brakes for a 20min drive the squeal comes back sometimes. I think the G just needs and likes its abuse!

I have had the "lurching" issue as well. Taking the g in tomorrow for a door not locking and will see what they say.

My wife’s 2019 G 550 lurches forward when sitting in Park. I notice it when the vehicle is in Park for over 5 minutes. Feels like someone bumped the back bumper when it happens. Anyone know why this happens?

Describe "lurching" - does it move forward a certain amount? Or does it just rock a little?

Yup, This is exactly what happens and the sense that you've been bumped is very real. I'm making an appt on monday and this is on my list to investigate. I've not figured out if its drive mode related. I'm usually in S+

Mercedes said they could not replicate the "lurching" but have had this report with other vehicles. Something to do with the brakes engaging after some time in park while car is still turned on. Thats what I was told. so no fix.

Does the car have parking brake on as well when it lurches forward? I almost always have it on so haven’t really experienced it

Mine has done this on many occasions. No P brake engaged. Just sitting in Park. 2020 G550 here.

Mine does this on occasion when sitting idling in park for an extended period. Best description above was it feels like a slight tap from behind. I don't think it's a big deal.

I'm taking mine in on Thursday next week. I plan to take a video showing the lurch to present it to them since it takes a while to replicate. Will let you know what they find out.

I'm also having the squealing breaks, high cabin pressure issues looked into along with 2 recall notices. Any other common issues I'm forgetting to have them look into. This is my first real visit getting any gremlins investigated.
