I ran Nokian Hakkapelita 9’s (non studded) on the 22 inch rims last year and they were awesome. Good ride quality and grip. I ordered a new set of Hakkapelita 9’s with studs for this winter. I’ll report back when I get them installed next week.
I also have 22" cross spoke wheels with oem Pirelli summer tires. As cold weather approaching, I'm shopping for new set of winter tires. Which winter tires did you order?
i was going to order Vredestein 285/40/R22 winter tires from Tire Rack, my dealership won’t store them unless I purchase tires from them. They ordered Perelli scorpion winter tires 285/40/R22 from Dealer Tire, they don’t get their tires from Tire Rack. They said it’s not a problem switching tires. Mercedes STL said I needed a second set of wheels. My dealership said they don’t know what they’re doing or talking about.
Do people who live in locations with snow, drive them in the winter?? Do you change to winter tires? What is your winter driving experience. Hate to dirty up the car!!
The OE Pirelli Scorpion "All Season" tires are fairly worthless. Perhaps a knowledgeable forum member can explain the term "all season" to those of us who live in climates where there are 4 distinct seasons. I replaced the Pirellis on my 2019 G550 with Yokohama Geolander 015's that are classified as "All Terrain" and are snow rated (look for a mountain peak with a snowflake on the tire sidewall). I have run these year-round in Colorado in everything but deep mud, and I have no complaints. They're quiet on dry pavement and have great traction in snow (hard-packed and loose). But if you're looking specifically for a snow tire that you intend to use seasonally, Blizzaks are my choice. They'll get you through anything until you're high-centered.

I see what you're saying. I care about being able to go to the snow once per year, like Tahoe. We live in Bay Area where we for all-intensive purposes miss out on a real winter with snow.

check your tires. Do they have the M+S marking? If not, they’re not all season. I know when we drive to Tahoe during the winter and they’re doing the chain checks, if you don’t have chains than they have to see the M+S on the tires.

An M+S rated tire only has to comply with certain tread geometry -- actual traction, road surface conditions and temperature performance be damned. Jeez how confusing..Ill check ,though the G will never be driven in any type of snow or ice.
I got my G in last year at the end of Nov and as I wanted custom wheels it mostly sat last winter, performance tires do not do well on snow and ice LOL!
This year I am ready and its a good thing as Im selling my second vehicle.
M&S as someone said is about tread pattern/sipping and suitability for loose mud and ice/snow. All season rating is related to the polymer construction of the tire not plasticizing (non-elastic) at the 45-49 degree Fahrenheit point.
Before placing an order a set of 285/40R22 Pirelli Scorpion Winter, here is a dumb question. Is 285/40R22 okay for 22" AMG cross spoke?(which originally came with 295/40R22) Since 285 and 295 have different diameters, should I be worried about speedometer, odometer and etc? Never experienced dealing with this as all my previous cars had all-season tires. Thanks.

Mercedes delivered my 2019 G550 with Pirelli 275/50R20 all season tires mounted and a Continental 265/50R20 concealed under the spare cover with a "MAX 45 MPH" sticker slapped on it. "Mercedes Approved" means the tire is round and inflates.. My 15 year old granddaughter who just got her driver's permit knows more about tires than MB.
