MY2019+ Maintenance Schedule

Does anyone have the Mercedes recommended schedule? I’m talking about the details of what should be done at what time (e.g., diff fluids, transmission fluid, etc.).

Mercedes seems to have stopped publishing this from MY18 onwards. Probably because they want us to just do the A or B services every year. However, these are an utter waste of money. You’re paying over $100 an hour for someone to check if your horn works. I only ask for the items that need to be serviced.

The lack of maintenance information in the owner's manual is irritating, and obviously MB wants everybody to have their horns checked at a dealership. When I took delivery of my G a year ago, they wouldn't even tell me where the battery is.

My maintenance schedule is:
Oil and filter change every 5K (I reset the service indicator when necessary)
Tire balance/rotation/pressure every 5K (at Discount Tire - no charge with its tire warranty ~$30/tire one time fee. They also check the brake pads n/c.)
Check fluid levels - antifreeze, washer fluid, brake fluid -- every 3 months
Check air and cabin filters - every 6 months - replace when necessary
Replace wipers every 12 months (unless needed more often)

Brakes, differentials, transmission and transfer case are all sealed systems. Unless you drive extremely aggressively, spend weekends at a racetrack, or have done repairs, these system fluids aren't periodic maintenance for me.
Dealers make 80% of their operating profit from service and are more than happy to do $600 oil changes.

Yes, it’s very irritating. I’m going to explore this further with head office.

Some dealerships set their own schedule, which is often too frequent.

Brake fluid should be flushed every 2 years.
I will probably do the transmission and diff fluids every 4, since that’s the recommended interval for my AMG GT. Doesn’t hurt and may prevent a failure.

Not to open this can of worms, do whatever makes you feel better, but the Mercedes oil change interval is 1 year or 16,000 km. I did the first one at 6 months but otherwise will do it every year. Modern synthetic oils don’t need changes more frequently.

This past year, 5K = 12 months, but I stick with 5K, even with synthetic. The oil that comes out never resembles what I poured in 5K earlier, and for $65 and 30 minutes effort, it's cheap maintenance.
