W463 G63 DRL LED wiring help

Hi,

I have a 2014 G63 that I am trying to install these aftermarket DRL in.

Has someone installed these and guide me how to wire these?

it looks like there is a 3 pin connector in each LED’s driver that has a red black and blue cable. I am assuming red and black are positive and ground and can be connected to battery. What is the blue cable for ?

there is an option to connect to just DRL or DRL and position light as well.

The 3 pin connector for each LED driver

The 2 options in connectors

any help from someone who has done this before will be appreciated.

I have not installed these particular LED DRLs, but in general:

Red: Switched +12 - hot with ignition in "run" position (position II).
Black: Ground
Blue: Dimmer lead. Connect to parking light circuit to dim DRLs when parking/head lights are on.

thanks . That makes sense.

do you think I could just get by with connecting red and black and not use the dimming function?

where is the parking light circuit? Is it the small bulb underneath the main headlight?

or is it the side marker lights?

thanks

Of course. But if you use the circuit in my link, the DRLs will also come on when you open the truck with the remote at night, just like the 2013 and later OEM equipped LED DRLs.

Either one will supply the parking lamp signal needed. I used the side marker.
