Spark plugs change intervals for G63 AMG

Just curious how often are the spark plugs are supposed to be replaced on the G63 model ?
Is it every four or five years regardless of mileage?

I think the B service from the dealer includes plugs replacement correct ?

Thanks

In its never-ending pursuit to make money on its marginally profitable automobiles, MB seems to be providing less owner documentation each year. I never received a scheduled maintenance booklet -- only the rubber stamp booklet that records service. Schedule A and Schedule B services are described only as basic maintenance -- things like oil changes, tire balance/rotation, visual inspections, etc. This is what gets you into MB's service department where your $500 Schedule A/B turns into several times as much for fluid changes, brake pads, spark plugs, etc. The last detailed maintenance book I was able to find online was for MY2010, and for the G, spark plugs were listed as change-out at 60K. This of course can be affected by the type of engine you have and your driving style. I think 60K is a reasonable milestone, unless your engine's behavior or performance gives you cause for concern.

Dealer claims that plugs should be replaced around the 4 year mark, regardless of mileage.
Trying to avoid plugs seizing and being stuck at the threads is the reasoning.
I was hesitant on replacing them at 17K miles but mine is 2016 model so no choice but replace them.

IMO fuel and lubricant should prevent spark plug thread seizure, unless the motor has been badly mistreated. If you have a concern, you could remove them and apply a small amount of anti-seize compound. I never realized spark plugs have a shelf life. Next time I buy any, I'll have to look for product labeling "best if used by December 2025" (lol).
Back in the era of carburetors, breaker points and spark coils, it was easy to demolish a set of plugs in 5K miles. Today's ignition and fuel injection systems control fuel, timing and voltage parameters with such precision that spark plugs are never abused beyond their design limits and consequently, can last a very long time.
Nevertheless if $80 for a set of new plugs buys you peace of mind, it's cheap comfort.

MB OE plug goes for $15/ea. Bosch version is $10/ea. What plug brand & p/n are you recommending for $3/ea.?
