Recommendations on Rocksliders and Skid Plates

Hey squad!

Now that I’ve got A/T tires installed on my G550 I’m looking at additional functional add-ons to protect the Wagen when on the trail. Wondering if anyone has strong opinions on sliders and, which, if any, skid plates aside from stock are useful. I’m trying to keep it looking fairly stock and I’ve seen options on g-wagenaccessories.com that are quite discrete. Strong opinions or experiences on this front?

I'm partial to the Abenteuer 4X4 rock sliders, got a pair from Germany and they're heavy duty, very functional, and sweet looking: Abenteuer 4X4 rock sliders for the G
Don't bother with fuel tank protection, it's only needed if you have a 2008 or older G. 2012 G's come with a pretty good tank protection.
However, you should get a transfer case skid plate, like this one from ORC: ORC transfer case skid plate
Up to you if you want to get a better front skid plate, I find that mine is sufficient.

Oh awesome, been looking at the ORC gear so will definitely be going that direction. I like the look of the stock sidesteps and I’ve seen some sliders that work with those. But I like these ones also.

ORC

Same here on ORC. Full skid plates from ORC and their double sill protection sliders directly from Germany. Took right at 3 weeks to get from order date. Purchased it through Jackwagon Overlanding. Jack is awesome and his customer service made the process easy.

Awesome! Ordered the skid plates. Trying to decide what look I want to go for on the sliders.
