2018 G63... What next ???
Got my 2018 G63 11/19.
I LOVE it but I am kinda getting bored.
Yesterday a rep from my local exotic dealer was waiting for me at my business.
He was driving a 2018 Bentayga and told me he had noticed my car while driving by several times going to work and wanted to talk to me.
Looked over my car and asked if I wanted to sell or work a trade towards the Bentayga LOL. I like the Bentayga but it had around 34K on it (more than ideal for in my mind).
Anyway it kinda got me thinking, I can get pretty close to what I paid for the G but I really don't even know what I would want.
I need something I can daily drive (4 seats, 4 door ideally but 2 door isn't out of the ? as the kid is 8 and can get in and out himself). AWD since we get snow here and I hate buying brand new and taking the off the lot hit right away LOL
I love the new S Class but Id want a 22 due to the display and a few other upgrades and as I said I don't want to buy brand new. I like the new E63S but are there any changes in the 22? (display or anything?).
I may just end up keeping my G but I may not if I find the right thing.
Max I want to spend is 130K
I do love the DB11 and I can find a 17 or 18 under 20K miles in my budget but I do not know as Ive always heard an AM is like a boat, best days are the day you buy it and the day you sell it due to reliability
Previously I have had LX470, Wrangler Rubicon UL, M3, M335ix, Tahoe 2 door, Cadillac ETC and several Grand Cherokees
Here is my G, I put a Brabus rear bumper on it and these wheels & tires as I do not get a truck on performance tires unless you have Miami or LA weather all year. I still have factory wheels and tires.
Upgrade to a New G and wait until the market calms down to buy and dew sports car. Used cars are way too much right now.

You can drive a different car every day.
That being said, do you have any interest in Range Rovers? A buddy of mine wants a new G63, but won't pay over sticker so he is on a wait list for one. In the meantime he drove a few other options, and the Range Rover Sport SVR is a rocket ship. Might fit the bill for your needs in terms of performance and all-wheel drive. If you look around you can pick up a good one for reasonable money. There's a white 2020 here in Houston for $120k, that only has 2,000 miles on it. I'm guessing dealer demo. You could probably scoop it up for $115K. I think sticker on it was north of $130k.

As for the SVR, it's a legitimate monster. I have a good friend that owns one and it's bonkers.
It has all service, the dealership group is one of the larger ones in the US and this is at their local high line store.
It is a beautiful car but I doubt it will hold value anywhere near as well as the G over the next year or two.
I looked at a DB11 today as I have always loved Aston Martin but it just won't work as the back seat is a joke even for my 8 year old LOL
My G has the Black Designo Exclusive Nappa and about 23K on it.
Range Rovers are beautiful, I had a sport and it was OK but if I ever were to buy another it would have to be the LWB Range Rover yet their resale kinda kills it for me.
The two cars that seem to interest me most are the 21 E63S and the new V8 Wrangler Rubicon coming out (Jeeps have great resale). Total opposites I know.
I LOVE the new S Class but would want a 22 for the display upgrades, The GT53 is pretty nice but I think it and the S are a little longer than ideal for me.
I loved my M3 but want something a little bigger and the M5 just didn't do it for me when I drove it. I found the E63S much more comfortable all around.
I had an Audi RS5 for a few months and hated it... In my mind Audi is the Buick of Germany (not as comfortable as a MB and don't handle as well as a BMW)

I've driven the GT63S, and it is insane. Way fun car that is way faster than you would think a 4 door sedan should ever be. If that's in your price range, maybe look at a good used one or CPO if you can find a good deal.
You can never go wrong with an S class, but I'd wait for the '22 upgrades as well.
$130K on your truck seems like a pretty good offer. I'd stay away from the Bentley for resale reasons, but they are a very nice driving truck. Is the one they are trying to sell you the W12, or the V8? I'd only consider the W12 if it was me, and in that price range that's what you should hold out for. My buddy just traded his '17 W12 model for $134,000 and it only had 11,000 miles on it. They sold it for $142,500 a couple weeks later. Just giving you some market data to use.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

but i just added the 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo to my stable.
its really comfortable and fun to drive. Its a sport car in a truck shape.
crazy fast.
i love them both differently.
the Cayenne Turbo is more my daily driver
and the G is my weekend car.
Problem with selling your 2018 is finding something else to drive right now while inventory on cars is so low. That will be a good one to hang on to!
Yea I've been on these car forums for quite a while and really enjoy people's perspectives/experiences. I'm keeping my G Wagon because it's got that old school badass vibe and it's the last year of that run. Great to see you're on the forums!
The X5 M is really nice but I just feel Id lose my but maybe not horrid if I get a 2020
I drove a DB11 recently and fell in love... Now with AMG guts they are quite reliable but with having a 8 year old the back is kinda a joke and Id need to buy or lease an inexpensive truck or SUV for work stuff.
The AMG GT63 is nice but Id rather a new S and don't wanna buy new.
Porsche SUVs just don't do it for me but the Panamera Turismo is kinda cool but why not get the E63 wagon instead.
