2016 G exhaust noise reduction
Members - I am looking for ways to reduce the rumble exhaust note of my 2016 G550. I am tryin to get it to be as quiet as possible. Any ideas on how to do that and where to get the parts from? Thanks.

No complaints yet. Its just annoying to me this low pitch constant booming / grumbling exhaust note at the lower end of the rev range. Its like having a sub woofer in a tin can.

I wish you could send some decibels my way 😂. Might just check with a muffler shop if they can add another muffler somewhere… I doubt there’s a single non-custom solution as the previous poster pointed out, the majority of people want to go louder not quieter. The G engineers purposefully designed this rumble, it’s part of the G’s allure.

Thanks for the input guys. My gut feeling on it is a muffler change on either side will help. This muffler only makes this grumble at low revs. At higher speeds it vanishes. The engine itself has very little noise. However because this engine spends most of its time at the lower end of the rev range around town its a constant annoyance - to me at least. My neighbors have not complained yet but they have two small kids' whose nursery faces my garage so I guess its just a matter of time. Every time I lock the doors I think someone just bolted a WW l sniper riffle behind me! I love it.

It does get a bit rumbly! I do like the sound but I can see how it gets old for a daily driver
I am not 100 pct certain but I think In ROW models, some last gen classic (2016-2018 in US) G500 (same engine as US g550) did not come with the sport exhaust option (K69)
a quick flip through mobile.de shows models with the 19” Amg wheels and those with the 18” like one below

I don’t see the VIN # to be able to lookup build sheet but my suspicion is that there is a different set of factory mufflers you can buy that are silent. Same motor on the S560 and it’s quiet there
