How much louder do you want? If you want the option to be a lot louder, consider some cut-outs. They are a valve (electronically actuated) that you can have installed before the muffler. Open them up and the exhaust dumps before the muffler. The noise is louder, but not obnoxious in my opinion. Then close them up when you want it quiet like stock.
You can also just do a muffler delete. This created pops and bangs for my G63. Also its cheap, like $300. and easily reversible, just 3 bolts to bolt the OEM muffler back on.

thanks! Is it loud inside the cabin? I did resonator delete on my ‘17 C63 and it was sweet!
headers may be an option for it - depending on year.... for my G55 it'll add some HP and get a bit more growl I'm hoping...
I've been thinking about a full stainless exhaust + headers upgrade. Can't seem to find many options that aren't outrageously expensive. Do you know of any?
I'm about to finally order a set of the MBH headers, and then plan to have a local shop that can do mandrel bends do a custom system using Burns mufflers and a turn down .....
MBRP makes a system for the 550 / G63 that reasonable and sounds pretty good..... and has turndowns. I think Jackwagon has it on his 550.... ? on the 55's it's a bit too short on the hangers and without the muffling effect of the turbo I'm told it's a bit much.... and likley would for sure be with headers and no cats.....

Don't you need cats to pass emissions?
Just went to their website. When I selected my vehicle it came back as "no results found". I see a cat back exhaust on JWO's website but not a full exhaust + headers. Any ideas where I can find it?
My German Shepards hate cats.......so it's a humanitarian decision.
I'm waiting to hear back from MBH - I may run their "cats" to have some good faith effort visible....

The MBRP exhaust will fit, but you'll need to replace the exhaust hangers to a G63 exhaust hanger. Otherwise the fitment is the same.

That aside, are there stainless downpipes available to complete the exhaust? Maybe something somewhat louder than stock?

Stainless Downpipes? Is it a G63? We thought the vehicle was a G55?
