Catalytic Converter Rust

I’m looking at a 2005 g500 and the seller sent these pics of the under carriage. They said the catalytic converters came like this from the factory. Are they pulling my leg? Should I be concerned or does everything check out as far as how these should look? This has 58k miles.

I don't see any cracks. I don't see any reflags but pictures can be deceiving.

Was it ever replaced before and put back on at a later time? It honestly is looking clean for a 2005. I have a 2016 G63 and it doesnt look this clean. Good luck!

Yes, my enthusiast friends let me know that I have nothing to be alarmed about!

I agree that it’s super clean, getting a PPI done tomorrow morning and will buy it assuming everything else looks good. Apparently the previous owner was obsessed with keeping it clean. Was sent to the Mb dealership every 5-7k miles or so.

thank you for the reply!

Did you get it?! Post pics! Looks like you scored big. Hard to find a G that clean!
