This time I noticed small drop of red fluid on my driveway. Inspection showed that leak is coming from transmission cooler line that's going from Radiator to front cooler.
This is located at passenger side, just above lower rad hose
Based on what I see, my experience with such rust issues and experience seen in below video, I already ordered new Radiator
I am however having hell of a time finding the stupid replacement hose. I've checked few Benz part sites, including https://partsouq.com however no luck
I think it's https://www.mbonlineparts.com/oem-pa...ine-4632701496 however unsure as diagrams don't match what I see on my truck
I might even just have local shop make me one. They usually can make any hose with any fitting.
If someone has experienced the same, please share (including part number of the hose)
It looks similar to this
I got replacement Nissens radiator and had local shop make me the line for $40 CAD
There is no need to buy this from the dealer.
I also found out why the fitting rusted out. Someone had a great idea to put foam insulation around the fitting, which attracted moisture and rusted out the fitting
I still don't understand why manufacturers use foam knowing that moisture will get in there and cause rust...
And finally, Nissens radiator comes with transmission cooler bank on other side, that's not used on G55.
