I can't get an oil level reading on my G550
I have a 2016 G550 and found that I can't get an oil level reading on the gauge cluster (and there is no dipstick). When I scroll to service: oil level, the readout immediately said "oil level ok" but no measurement was taken. I recall that it used to take some time for an actual reading, but the last few days the "oil level ok" notice pops up immediately. This was happening for a few days, and now when I try to get a reading, the message immediately says, "measuring engine oil only accurate when vehicle is level." The vehicle is on perfectly level ground parked in my garage. So, clearly it seems there is a problem with the oil sensor or something. I don't think this could have contributed to the problem, but I recently reset the service light on the dash as the vehicle had a major service last year and has not been driven more than a couple thousand miles since that time. Has anyone ever experienced this problem or have any ideas of how to troubleshoot this? I have moved to an area where the closest MB dealership is about 4 hours away. Thanks in advance for any help.
