W463 - Cold Start Noise Help
Hi everyone,
I have a new to me, 2018 G550 W463 with the V8 (M176) 4.0 Engine.
I've owned the car for less than a year and everything was fine and it drives great.
it has just 39K miles and does not get driven often. Up until a week or two ago, i have noticed that EVERY single first and cold start of the car, it experiences and shows the below symptoms:
1) During first 2-5 seconds of the cold start, it shakes the car
2) The engine area makes burbling/choking noises of what seems like air bubble/pockets? not sure how to describe it, I've tried to record a video showing the noise.
3) if you shut off the engine and restart, the noise will not happen again. If its warmed up during the day, the noise doesnt happen. It only happens on the FIRST and COLD start of the day.
I'm just lost and unsure where to start.
I've connected XENTRY/STAR Diagnosis to view engine live running data, there seem to be no misfires at all, and no OBD trouble codes set for the car.
I'm doing some research online and am seeing little info but on other engines/cars, might point to some sort of secondary Cold Air Vent System/Pump, Camshaft position sensors, oil separators, misfires, timing chain? its hard to believe as the car experienced 0 symptoms prior to this and ran perfect. Maybe it is because it does not get started/driven daily?
Could anyone offer any diagnosing tips?
Thank you so much!
I've uploaded the cold start video to Youtube.
