Howdy all. 2002 G500, 180k miles. Very strong service history from original owner.
After a 2000 mile road trip, have come back with an oil leak coming from front left of the engine. I THINK it is possibly the inspection gasket under the oil filter housing? Can't see the leak from the top, but can see it leaking from lower half of the front left. Drops about 3-4 square inches a night. Truck drives great, engine doesn't sound funky.
Anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be?
Sounds like the oil filter housing. I have a similar leak on my G63 and it's due to go in for repair in Jan 2nd. I cannot seeing anything from above but getting drips coming down the front, onto skid plate, frame rai, etc.

What is the "inspection" gasket you mentioned?
Interesting. Please keep my updated on repairs and pricing! Weird, I have receipts from PO that show oil filter housing/cooler seal and belt/pulleys/tensioner done 12k miles ago... perhaps somethings pinched?
I ordered an oil filter cap since it was confirmed seeping out, and a few other things. Will keep you updated.
inspection port is the timing chain inspection port. Gets brittle and starts leaking.
