2004 G55 headunit wiring diagram

Hey all,

I am looking to install another aftermarket headunit in my 2004 G55. The car came with an old kenwood headunit. I needed an aux input so bought a cheap android headunit and got everything wired up. The factory harness was cut to the old kenwood headunit so I just went through and tested the wiring and hooked up to the android headunit (since all my speakers are ran through aftermarket amps it wasn't too difficult.. I think there were only 5 or 6 wires I needed to connect).

I am curious if anyone has the factory wiring colour code. As I believe the new headunit is supposed to be plug and play with the OEM harness. I would also like to wire in the steering wheel controls if thats possible. Reason for the change from the cheaper android unit to the plug and play (still cheap but less cheap) andriod unit is because I like the look of this headunit fitting vs the double din with a plate to cover up the stock headunit hole.

Thanks

I never did a full wire mapping on one post, but here's some aggregated data from all over the place.

The speaker output plug is the black 4x2 plug that is disconnected in the top of the picture. These are thinner gauge wires that run to the amp plug under the driver's seat.

This is the OEM connector you have to tap into with the Axxess ASWC-1. Pink wire (on ASWC-1) to skinny red (upper right) and blue/pink wire (on ASWC-1) to skinny brown wire (upper left).

One special note, I did have to run my own Switched power to the had unit. The harness adapter that I have didn't have a switched power wire - I'm guessing since the OE had unit is turned on via the fiber optic or CANBUS connector.

The rest of the wires just look pretty standard.

Dang that's a lot of connectors.. If I recall I only saw one bundle of wires.. I'll have to go spend some time with your info when the new unit comes in..

I'm not sure I know what your referring to with the aswc-1 wiring? What is this for?

Do you happen to know what the steering wheel control wiring is (I expect there is just a can + and can - wire in the harness?

The ASWC-1 is my CANBUS adapter for the steering wheel controls. Can H/L wires are ~20awg red and brown wires on the black connector.

Thanks ill have a look and see if I can get them connected as well. I might test them with my current android headunit to see if they work. The steering wheel controls arent really required in my mind but since they are there I may as well get them working.
