W463 G500/G550 4x4 Custom Wheel Specs

Hey guys,

I’m making this thread because I had a hard time finding the right wheel specs for the 4x4 Squared, as I am trying to order custom wheels.

I ended up reaching out to Bill Rader Motor Sports and HRE, they both were very helpful, and able to give me the correct info.

A lot of what I found online wasn’t accurate. Some specs listed really aggressive offsets (ET20, ET19, ET18). A few vendors told me the center bore was 84.1mm (which is for the regular G Wagon), and others even said 125mm. There was a lot of mixed information out there.

Just hoping this helps the next person looking.

These are the specs I found for 22" wheels:
22×10.5”, ET40, Bolt Pattern 8X165.1, CB/Hub Size: 122.5mm (the Hutchinson wheels are 122.37mm), Max load 1250Kg

The factory specs are:
22x9.5", ET58, Bolt Pattern 8X165.1, CB/Hub Size: 122.5mm, Max load 1250Kg

I want to run 37x13.5x22, but might just go with 37x12.5x22 so I don't have to deal with any trimming/rubbing.

I want to run Falken tires - Falken Wildpeak A/T4W are only available in 37x12.5x22, and Falken Wildpeak R/T are only available in 37x13.5x22. I've had the older A/T3W on my Raptor, and loved them.

In the pictures I have attached, these are the specs: Wheels & Tires: HRE TR188 20×10.5”, ET40; Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 37×12.5R20

Do you have a 2017-2018 G550 Squared, or do you have a 2022-2024 G63 Squared? The specs for the wheels might be different. I vaugely remember they are different, but I'm not 100% sure. Bill knows his stuff since he has worked on more Squareds than probably just about anyone, but the pics you posted are of one of his G63 Squared conversions he does, not of a G550 Squared, nor of a factory G63 Squared. I mention this because tire fitment on them is all a little different.

Depending on what you plan to use the truck for, different size tires (and even wheel offsets) can be considered. On the G550 Squared you can easily run a 37x13.50 tire with zero rub on factory wheels. You can actually even run a 40" tire on the original Squared, but actually using it offroad would be tough since it would rub when the suspension starts to flex a bunch. If you have a G550, then you should have no problem with a 37x13.50.

The specs I am going with:

22×10.5”, ET40, Bolt Pattern 8X165.1, CB/Hub Size: 122.5mm (the Hutchinson wheels are 122.37mm, but Bill Radar said to go with 122.5mm because the tolerances will be the same), Max load 1250Kg (going to ask for 1,905Kg load rating tho)

You can do ET45 too - I just am going with the offset Bill Radar and HRE recommended, which is as close to stock, which pushes the wheel out slightly that don't go past the fenders and doesn't put extra strain on the portal axles.
