Why is the lack of keyless entry on the G such a big deal? I've had this on my last two Lexuses, and now on my BMW. I find it a complete PITA when I'm washing the vehicle because the car keeps oscillating between lock and unlock, beeping and flashing its lights. Or if I'm loading or unloading cargo, same thing. What do you do with your key fob to avoid this? To me, having to take it out of my pocket and leave it in the house, and then go back to retrieve it is more trouble than having to push the damn button to lock and unlock. Is keyless entry just a "gee-whiz I gotta have this 'cause it's just so cool" feature to everyone?

On other Mercedes models, clicking the lock button on the key fob twice disables Keyless-Go (this way, car thieves can't replicate the signal from a key fob inside the house). This is what I usually do when washing the car, but then when I want to use the function, unlocking the car again restores functionality. Point being - I think it's a lot more convenient to have the function, but without touch sensors on the handles, I'm not sure how locking the car with Keyless-Go would work.

Yes I’m puzzled by this solution as well. It doesn’t offer any detailed explanation of how it’s going to work and yea the door handles aren’t replaced..a friend bought the 2022 g63 and sent me this as he’s contemplating getting it.. tbh I’m fine with what we got yet curious how this integration actually works…if anyone knows at all…

I personally don't want keyless entry on the G. Enjoy using my fob to lock/unkock door. I get to slow down for second, click button, & hear the loudness of the mechanism.
If I wanted keyless entry I would've kept my Yukon.
If the G did have it, I wouldn't complain either way. It is what it is. You buy what you want. If you don't like that it doesn't have it, don't buy it.

I do find this interesting, maybe I’m old school considering I don’t use a real key to unlock the door it’s “keyless” 🫣. Just push the button it opens like magic.
