G550 Professional Line

Just got into a 2022 G550 Limited Edition Professional Line. Finally traded up from my 07 G500. I’m liking it a lot so far, but wondering if anyone has one as well and their experience.

thanks
mike

Doesn't the configuration sticker block your view at intersections?

You just don't get it, this is like that fad where kids got hats but intentionally left the tags on. Gotta flex that option list and ADM on the peasants

Lol! The luggage rack on top makes the car visible from miles away so no need to check intersections! So mad my dealer removed my window sticker without asking me! I hear the resale value after a few years with the sticker still on is much higher!

Just was asking if anyone had purchased and their experience and there are some different factory mods on this G. Appreciate all your comments though, reminds me of why this forum is not worth posting on given all the bush league comments. Clearly you’ve got nothing better to do with your time. Have a good day

LOL "bush league", you've come to post on a G forum to ask if others own this car....of course they do and of course some have modded theirs too....big surprise.

Some of you need to either take your meds or get on them

Clearly this picture was taken when it was still at the dealer as the car behind it has a sticker on its window too.

It's a cool looking G, I had heard about these but didn't know they were out yet. I think yours is the first posted here. Imagine it's a whole lot different than your 2007.

Congrats! I think it looks great in this config. I’ve seen the other colors show up recently at local dealers, too.

My sincerest apology to Atlas7079 for my reply made in haste, and for the snarky follow-ups that I provoked (c'mon guys -- they were snarky). Some of us gear-heads think we're much funnier than we really are.

Thanks! It’s def a great truck and totally different than my G500. Prior, to this the latest model I had driven in was 2016, so a lot of good upgrades. Amazing how different the ride feels. I still really enjoy driving and working in the older Gs, but the time had come to upgrade. The pic was at the dealer the day I picked it up, so appreciate you realizing that 😁

All good, no worries. Yeah, was the day I picked it up at the dealer….probably should have referenced that.

Thanks! Yeah, I wasn’t even aware that this was an option and was torn between trying to find a base G550 or this. The other colors (sand and olive I think) look pretty nice.

My dealer has one for sale. Looks nice. My kids can’t climb into the back row without the running boards so it was a no go for me. If you have kids or old people you need to transport keep that in mind.

Atlas, please accept apologies if you felt insulted by my comment! Great looking car and configuration although I would not choose the professional package unless planning on some serious off roading! Hope you are!

I wanted to ask the OP about the tires on his truck, but notice he/she is no longer "Atlas7079" but is now "user 892722" with rank listed as "Banned". Can someone familiar with forum protocol explain?

What does 'professional" imply on a truck like this? I can understand F150 professional, but the G? Is the professional line intended to be a lower one? I see the G as elite... Curious on the naming convention approach...

Just picked one of these up myself. I did swap the Falken's for BFG's in 265/65/18.
The package is perfect for my uses; it comes with 18's, matte wheels, no running boards, roof rack, and Manufaktur interior. Great combination of rugged exterior and luxurious interior which is what I'm after.

Saw one of these today for sale at my local dealer, great looking rig and perfect for the off-road enthusiast.

Awesome setup with those K02s! Those stock Wildpeak AT3W-A are definitely less aggressive than the regular AT3W, but I’m curious how well they perform.

Were the OE Falkens the same dimensions as your BFGs? Did you mount a 5th BFG spare?

The OE Falkens were 260/65/18 and I sized up a bit to the 265's. Yes, mounted a BFG to the spare as well and it fits great with the open carrier mount on this package.

As I detailed in an earlier post quite some time ago, my standard edition G550 came with Pirelli 275/50R20's. I wanted a better year round use tire, so I swapped them out for Yokohama Geolander 3PSF all-terrains (that have worked well, BTW). Closest size I could find was 275/55R20 - no big deal. Several months later when I removed the spare tire cover for cleaning, I found MB had supplied a Continental 265/55R20, which on the build sheet was described as a "full size spare", because the cover doesn't fit the Pirelli 275/50R20. Makes for an interesting dilemma if you have to change a tire -- hopefully there's room in the boot for the cover, as it can't be mounted over the flat.

Anyway, I installed a 5th Yoko as the spare and went with an aftermarket cover (Boomerang) that fits it. I like keeping all the tires thae same circumference at all times.
