CarPlay behavior?

With my BMW, when I open Google Maps and input a location into my iPhone, my X5M immediately loads the destination once I start Google Maps in CarPlay and all I need to do is click confirm. Does the G 63 behave the same?

Yes, Google Maps on CarPlay works the same in every car. This is not a car specific feature.

Thank you, that's good to know.

While on this topic - with the BMW, the steering wheel has a 'voice' icon that when invoked launches the BMW voice command system for nav, etc. But if I long hold the voice button it launches Siri through CarPlay. Does Mercedes operate the same?

Yes, this feature is called Siri Eyes Free. Every car that supports CarPlay also supports Siri Eyes Free. It's how you invoke Siri whether the phone is just connected via BT or CarPlay is active.

Great, thanks again for the insight.

I was initially hung up on the lack of touchscreen but I’ve been paying more attention to how I operate nav and music in my BMW and the reality is I very rarely actually touch the screen making this a nonissue.

The only thing you find the G doesn't support is wireless CarPlay. You'll have to plug your phone in to use CarPlay. There are third-party dongles such as Carlinkit if you really want wireless.
