From the pull-back in EVs that all the manufacturers have recently made, the market has plateaued at best and is cratering at worst. The enthusiasts have bought in, the skeptics are still wait-and-see, and the nay sayers are still nay saying. The market for new EVs is a tough enough sell, and when the luxe EV enthusiasts are dumping their low mileage cars within a year, normal depreciation seems a distant dream. I'm not interested in dumping $150K+ on a new EV, and getting a barely used one at half price wouldn't change that.

And this is the car I was talking about. It did not bring more than $100,000 in a 2 week online auction so they pulled it out of the auction and listed it with a “buy now” price.

Of course no buyers!!
You just pulled 3 2020 model years with high miles for the make. I'm not say these cars are not depreciating rapidly just not to the extent you originally cited.

I spoke to someone this week who was involved in the hot weather testing of the G580 and they were very enthusiastic about its off-road performance. I have a G580 on order and my five previous G’s all spent a fair amount of time off-road, and I’m confident this one will do just fine as well.

Over many years of off-roading, I have loaned/given other drivers gasoline, air compressors, bumper jacks, use of my winch, etc. Guess I need to start packing an extension cord now (lol).

A tow to the top of the hill for regen braking will be fine.

Here in Colorado, that will be a long tow. But once there, you'll be able to coast all the way home!

G580 Off Road Capabilities Video

Mercedes posted a new video on the G580. The video is around 5 minutes and has a good overview of G Turn, G Steering, and other aspects of the electric G’s capabilities while driving off road. Posting this here in case it is of interest.

Mercedes has posted a couple of new videos on the G580. The first centers around on-road performance, including G Roar, driving modes, and recuperative braking. The second looks at how the electric drivetrain was integrated into the G, low range mode, and the underbody protection plate.
