I configured my 2025 G63 but could not finalize the build because the carbon fiber steering wheel could not be optioned. The dealer was told that there is currently a limited supply. My S.A. is checking availability every few days.
AMG G63 (2024), Ferrari Roma (2023), Alfa Romeo 4C Spider (2020), Wrangler Rubicon (2018)

Even the current "22-inch AMG forged cross spoke" in matte black on my '24 has the outer silver lip. I had asked that very same question with a MB corporate friend of mine at Stuttgart when I purchased mine. His answer was - curb rash... He explained to me that most curb rashes occur on the lip of the rim. Curb rashes on matte black or any color other than silver would be overly expensive to repair, whereas silver can be easily filled in and polished. Since MB offers a wheel protection program for an additional cost at the time of your purchase (which I have with my G63 and highly recommend), they wanted to reduce the internal repair cost in the event a claim is made.

Hope this helps. Be safe.
I didn't even realize the current ones had it till you guys pointed it out. Thanks, still bummed LOL
I ordered the R 20 22” wheels with the performance package $4350.
So you had to pay $4350 on top of the Performance Package I take it. Bc the package is a $5600 option by itself. It wouldn’t go down in price by swapping for a more expensive wheel.

The performance package comes with the gold wheels. I’m not sure if they charge extra for the gold wheels? Performance package is $4400.
I stand corrected. My apologies. I don't know why this whole thing is such a mess. For a company with some of the best engineers in the world, they sure don't seem organized in terms of pricing and sales.

The first time my dealer tried to enter my order last Wednesday, it didn’t accept it. Friday, without making any changes, it accepted my order. I don’t know why your sheet is different than mine? No worries, I think they need to work out some kinks in the ordering process.

Craig, so you had to pay $8,750 for performance package and R20 wheels vs $5,600 for performance package with RP5 wheels? Not sure why it would be $3,150 more than with the RP5’s as R20’s are only $500 more than RP5’s.

My thoughts exactly. But that appears to be the case.

That does not make sense because the black 21 in AMG wheels do not have an outer silver lip. Also touching up powder coated black is not really difficult
Craig looks like the dark chrome package will have a darkened brush bar then? I assume that's what "front brush guard bracket" is?
Yes, that’s what the general manager at my dealership said, I hope he’s right. I’d rather not have the bull bar, but we don’t have a choice in the USA.
Dark chrome is the way to go then I think. Like night package plus without the black bumpers and wheel arches.
Looking at the build sheets posted, I think it makes sense - $4400 for the performance package (not including the wheels) + whatever wheels you want. So with or without the gold wheels the total will end up being around $9000 give or take.
I think I'm going to do iridium silver with black monoblocks, the upgraded red interior, carbon trim and steering wheel, and the dark chrome package.
I believe the Dark Chrome Package is the Night Package with the addition of black badges and running boards, but I want to confirm that before finalizing my order.
This is from the German configurator. What do you think?
