gotcha.
I asked the dealer yesterday about selling out of City (said a friend from out of town was interested), and the response was as before - Dealer won’t sell out of their territory which is the Ottawa area.
Also, indicated the wait list is still approx 18-24 months for a G63.

 

I was notified back on January 25th that our G 63 was built. We live in South East US. I believe our vehicle will be dropped off in Brunswick or Jacksonville. How many ports do the ships stop at in Europe, Canada and US?

 

Assuming the same route for all ships, the G’s are picked up in Bremerhaven, the leave Germany with 3 stops in Europe, 1 stop in Canada (Halifax), and then with 3-4 stops in the US before hitting Jacksonville.

Yes - Dealer provided name of vessel immediately following vehicle build. It was a fun process to watch the progress of G across the Atlantic.
Also, if you zoom into the Port of export in Germany, you can see a handful of G Wagons waiting to be loaded onto a vehicle carrier vessel!
Spare tire and the transportation cover are the give-aways.

Mine went into Production last Thursday, my sales person said should be here around Mid-March.

 

That seems fast. Are you in the upper NorthEast region? Maybe your one of the first stops.

 

Nope, Northern Kentucky, well where I'm buying it from.

 

Then your KY Salesman knows nothing about G's.... you are looking at end-March/possible - April 5-1o arrival in KY most likely... the Clock really starts when the boat leaves Germany with your G on it - and at best that "might be" leaving by end-of-March.

 

I mean that's what she told me, mid-march or so. I'm not in a huge hurry, it comes when it comes.

 

Ya the boats for mid-march delivery to dealer are being loaded this week I believe or at the latest early next week. Due for hitting the US east coast ports starting the very last couple of days in Feb and early March. Then 2-14 days from the port centers to the dealers.

Yours will be on the next boat as after production it will take up to nearly 10 days for it all to get sorted, invoiced, hauled to port, assigned a ship and loaded, probably see it the very end of march or early april.

No much longer at all. Congrats on the truck.

 

Hopefully mine will arrive at port early next week for departure to Brunswick. My dealer is an hour and a half from port so maybe have delivery in 4 weeks.

 

How was the sales person able to tell you the production AND delivery date? I ordered on 2/11/21 and my salesman told me it could take a year to get my G550.

 

I mean she didn't. All she told me was if I put in a deposit I'd be able to get a 2021, since they're a high volume G63 dealer and get a lot of allocations.

I was just lucky that an allocation opened up for February, tbh I thought I'd be waiting until late summer, but got lucky.

Viking Conquest Vessel - is Mercedes using this for all the countries or only USA Canada ?
Asking them, because Im based in India and Indian dealers have 0 knowledge and 0 ideas, pathetic Mercedes india!

My dealer says, my car was built in May, but it has not yet reached India, expecting July end week.

 

I think your dealer is giving you a slot on a future allocation they do not have confirmed yet. Mine was with a set build date ( june) and an actual live allocation. Mine is now built and waiting fo be assigned a specific ship ( may be already, have not check in the last week? but who knows with the covid issues outside US?)

 

Look, it's an easy process. Unless one of the Mercedes sales associates on this forum is willing to help (and I don't know if they can access international builds), nobody else on this forum can give you any information.

-Deposit placed
-Allocation given (i.e. purchase order number provided) and build date provided (month/decade = week of month, so October 2nd decade = 2nd week of October)
-Vehicle built
-Travels to port (Austria to Germany?)
-Gets on a ship
-Ship docks
-Final prep at VPC
-On a truck
-At the dealer
-In your driveway

When I bought mine, my dealer told me every step of the way and it went smooth like butter. Sorry your dealer isn't helpful but we aren't going to have more info than they will especially considering none of us live in India.

 

Any Mercedes officials here in G forum, who can help me figure out ?

My dealer still says the car will arrive in July end.
But when I try to see sea traffic, I dont see any ships coming from Port Bremerhaven to Port Mumbai for next 60 days also.
