Took mine in. They only did the front. Haven't heard any squeal (yet)

My brakes were replaced with the new style pads a few days ago and now they’re squealing again.

Mine make a lot of noise too. I gave a copy of the Service bulletin and dealer told me since I am over 10,000 miles it is not covered anymore. Is there a time or milage limit on this fix cause I didn’t see any?

Check your warranty book. I think brakes should be covered for 12 months/12K miles or so.

My squeel is back. not sure if its a new problem with pads untouched on the first fix or a return of the original problem. Grrrr

In September, visited a local dealer for Service A, plus various reasons including recall and brake noise.
And they threw me off saying brake noise couldn't be verified?
Of course I picked the wrong date, rainy and all. Blame on me, I thought.
But now I'm learning that the brake issue won't be covered by warranty after a year?? (purchased in Sept 2020)
Can't forget the smiling face of service rep telling me to be back soon when the issue gets worse.

The thing they don't explicitly say in the TSB is that it follows the same warranty as came with the car and doesn't extend the warranty, even though it's a known issue. Once I had mine repaired, it's never made a sound afterwards/

G63 brake noise

QUOTE=gotwire;7959914]Got my 2019 G63 last April. After about 10k miles my brakes started to squeal. I’m talking old school bus squeal. Was at dealer for 3 weeks sending recordings to Germany engineers etc. They changed pads with new adhesive. Was fine immediately after “fix”. Now about 4 weeks later it has started to squeal again. Always under light breaking typical of city driving. Anyone else got noisy G63 brakes? Thanks[/QUOTE]

Hi. I have a G63 2019, it has had brake squeal problems for purchase front and back. The dealer has changed the front pads for the new modelled ones, which helped for a while. I have paid for new disks and pads for rear as was told that these had worn. The fronts are now squealing again. Is there any fix to this problem that doesn’t include putting new pads and discs on every 9 months? We average 1500 miles per month. Thanks, Jacqui

Probably only fix is to wait for ceramic pads to be made aftermarket. My started to squeal after 7500 miles for low speeds, basically only when I'm about to stop at a traffic light where there's a nice audience to hear.

I'm not going to worry about it for now unless I end up keeping this car for awhile then will complain while its still under warranty.

2020 G550
I had a similar issue on my 2020 G550 but mostly from the rear pads. I swapped to aftermarket semi metallic pads made by DFC (dynamic friction company) and have not had a problem since - because they are rear pads I can't really comment on performance other than I do not notice any difference other than the squeeling. After that, I purchased the front pads as well but have not swapped them since I do not get any noise from the front pads. They make front and rear pads for the 463A G63 as well. a little less dust than the OEM, but there is still dust.....

noticed that my brakes started squealing at around 250 miles. Turns out that I haven't really been braking all that hard since I've just been driving slowing around in traffic mostly. Once I did a few higher speed braking, the squeal went away. Maybe that may help in other's situation.

Probably some validity to this. The brakes have never been bedded properly. I suspect I have the same situation. Bedding your brakes is not difficult, just requires several high speed stops in succession. It's quite possible the pads have a formed a hard surface layer which must be burned off in this bedding process.

And here is the email to make the request: TECH@centricparts.com
What rotors do you suggest mating those with for my previous gen G?
