I ordered my 2021 G63 with the G Manufaktur package and carbon fiber interior. I noticed with the G Manufaktur package that the passenger grab handle is silver with “G Manufaktur” engraved rather than the standard carbon fiber. Also, my rear trunk door handle is not in carbon fiber though it would be without the G Manufaktur package. Please see attached photos so you see what I mean. I would like swap these 2 pieces out to match the carbon fiber of my interior. Does anyone know where I can get these 2 pieces in carbon fiber? I think I may have located the carbon part for the passenger grab handle here (https://www.mboemparts.com/oem-parts...46368333002a82) but can’t find the carbon part for the rear trunk door handle. Can anyone here help me with this? I imagine someone else probably did the same thing I’m looking to do as we are all hardcore G men! Really appreciate your help with this as would like to order the 2 pieces ASAP and get them swapped out.

I have the same black plastic trim on my trunk handle--apparently vehicles with the grey matte wood only get this piece. I asked a friend with a 2020 who has an almost identical spec to mine and his is the same.

Looking online I've seen the trunk trim for the metal weave and carbon fiber options, so I'm surprised yours didn't come with it.

 

Yeah, me too. But it’s okay if I can find the trunk handle and grab handle parts in carbon fiber I’ll swap them out. It’ll be inexpensive. I know the grab handle shouldn’t have come with it in carbon due to G Manufaktur but I don’t know why the trunk handle isn’t carbon fiber.

 

Is the rear handle the same size as the passenger grab handle? I can measure mine later if no one knows now. I swapped the passenger grab handle insert for the Zen Wood one and it looks so much better than one with lettering! This is not my G but you get the idea:

They are not the same length. The length on the passenger trim piece is 11.5 in. and the length of the rear handle trim piece is 8.5 in.

 

I figured out the answer to this! If anyone that ordered their 2021 G63 with carbon fiber trim and the G Manufaktur interior package was surprised that the passenger grab handle and rear trunk handle didn't come with carbon fiber like they were expecting you can order these parts to switch your finish out to carbon fiber if that is what you prefer:

I will be ordering both of these today and will update this thread once I have my two pieces switched out to carbon fiber. The passenger grab handle comes from the US and is in stock. The rear trunk handle has to come from Germany and will take about two weeks to arrive.

I'm sure it does. I would email that website I got my 2 parts from asking about it. Send them the second link for the rear trunk handle in carbon and say you're looking for the same in Zen wood. They should be able to find it if it's available. That website I ordered from has the best prices too, they were the cheapest of all the OEM Mercedes sellers for the exact same parts. Paul is the one who helped too! He told me this regarding the carbon fiber passenger grab handle and rear trunk handle:

We show the front dashboard handle inlay has plenty of stock in the USA, but the tailgate inlay would need to come from Germany. We can still order and receive the part, it may take 1-2 weeks for us to receive with an additional $21 in freight for just that item.

So hopefully your order for the Zen wood rear door handle insert won't take more than a couple of weeks too!

 

I ordered today albeit from mboemparts since they were a lot less and I got free shipping. When I get it I will post a pic!

 

That's weird. I just looked up the 2 parts that I ordered and they were a lot more on mboemparts.com. Funny how these websites have prices all over the place for the same parts.

 

I calculated the bottom line with shipping - my part was over $20 more via Paul so not a lot but it all adds up!

 

Happened to be looking for Rear carbon trim handle few months back. A463 737 8800 2B62

 

Well I ordered from 2 places and both kicked back the orders and canceled them since they said it is not available! Part# is 463-737-82-00-2B20 in case someone has a way to order it for me!

 

Can someone that orders that part for the read door take some pics of the install? This is something I'm definitely going to do but would like to see the process. Is it the full grab bar or just the insert trim piece?

 

If it like the passenger dash grab bar it is just an insert. Use a trim removal tool and start at an end on the bottom and work it out slowly. There will be 2 metal clips on each plastic tab so just move those over to the new insert and push it on.

 

I'll post pics of the install of the carbon front passenger grab handle and the rear trunk carbon handle once I have the carbon inserts installed.

Yes, those are the 2 parts you need. I posted the link to each above in this thread when I ordered them. My shipment will be arriving on Friday of this week and I will get the parts installed next week. I will update this thread with photos once the carbon fiber passenger grab handle and the carbon fiber rear trunk handle are installed.

 

Received my 2 carbon fiber trim pieces today! The part #’s and links I listed were correct. The front one that’s a little smaller is the rear trunk handle carbon trim piece and the back one that’s a little larger is the front passenger grab handle carbon trim piece. Getting these pieces installed on Monday morning. Will update the thread after installation done with the after photos!

 

This is interesting, I have a 2021, white w/night package, carbon fiber trim, and the G Maufaktur option. My trunk handle came with the carbon fiber trim but the dash handle did not. I wonder if adding the V36 option (leather grab handle) like I did changes the trim they use on it in the front?

 

Mine is a 2021, magno with magno night package, carbon trim and steering wheel, and the G Manukfaktur option. The dash handle never comes with carbon fiber if you do G Manufaktur since they can't engrave "G Manufaktur" on the passenger grab handle. I don't know why my trunk handle didn't come with carbon fiber though. But, in any event, both the passenger grab handle and the trunk handle will be carbon fiber now with these pieces I'm having installed on Monday morning, can't wait!

I don't think whether you have leather grab handles or not that it makes any difference with regards to where the carbon fiber trim goes.
