Order a new G63 at MSRP?
I am considering a new G63 for replacing my S Class. I was going to order a new S Class, but I thought it might be better to go with a G Class this time.
My local dealer called me today with an offer on a preowned G550. I was not impressed with that vehicle due to the color combo and the lack of options. They were also wanting $28k over MSRP with 10k miles on a 2020.
My dealer is offering to order me a new G63, but wants over MSRP and 1.5 year wait. I know there are dealers doing MSRP and a lot less of a wait time.
Can someone let me know where I can order one at MSRP and have it maybe by summer? I'm in Texas.
Thanks!

agree with the above. you MIGHT be able to get one at MSRP depending on the dealer and how good your relationship is with them. however you're going to have to wait.

Getting one by summer means getting an allocation that comes up like in the next month or so. Not impossible but most places are probably going to want a premium as they have been holding those spots for a spec model they can sell with an ADM.
I would call every dealer in Texas and a state over and get a lay of the land. Some will take you seriously some won’t—I’m sure they get a lot of calls.
If you can’t find anything then just cold call around the country and see if you can find anybody willing to help.

I did pay a small premium of 10k ADM, but from what I've seen it's actually on the very low end and I didn't have to wait long at all.

my family are big customers of a NJ dealer. If you want to wait 1.5 - 2 years, you can get at MSRP (maybe)... if you want an allocation for a car being delivered in the next few months, expect to pay 15-30k ADM... supply/demand.
I paid 15k ADM and got my dream spec quick.

I don't mind maybe a small premium of $5k or so, but I believe it is not a wise move for me to pay much more.
The values have done well for the new redesign, but no one is sure when this will stop and the vehicle has depreciate like all other MB vehicles.

have you considered getting a lightly used car? i see some 2020s going for close to MSRP with a few miles on them.

Um no, used 2020 G 63's with low miles are wholesaling in the MSRP plus $20K range. Retail is MSRP plus $30k

Then your only other option is to just go with the new S-Class or any other vehicle. Your only choices are paying a larger premium or a wait significantly longer than 6 months.

Probably, but at this price I could buy a slightly used 488 GTB or a new 992 GT3RS when they come out soon.
Don't get me wrong the G63 is worth it's MSRP and even a tad more, but when you're charging 60k over MSRP and approaching Ferrari and Lamborghini territory I'd rather go that route. I was lucky and only paid MSRP +10k which was good for me.

This place is a joke.
I'm still not understanding what people see in these new G wagons. Yes, they drive much nicer than the previous generation, but really, 99% of people on the road couldn't tell the difference between a 2003 and a 2020....or frankly don't care what you drive, even if it's a leftover relic of the 1970's cold war. I wonder if they were readily available, would demand be the same? Is this some type of panic toilet paper hoarding thing for the 1%? Trying to keep up with (or be better than) the Jones'? Do you think MB is purposely building them slowly to keep the panic demand going? The depreciation on these will be outrageous- at some point- Just asking for a friend.
