Because it is an Exclusive Edition of just 100 units.

 

Arrived at the VPC in Baltimore on the ship Freedom back on 4/9/21. Anyone else's arrive anywhere near that timeframe and have any updates? The unit in the system still just shows VPC - Received. It doesn't show a hold as some others have mentioned although it appears it may be the case.

 

Got notice of the recall from Carfax concerning the rear door latches and checked my VIN and it's affected on the NHTSA website.

"Remedy not available" currently, and I imagine Mercedes will eventually get around to sending me an email or letter. Since there was talk of this recall earlier in this thread thought I'd update it.

 

This recall (dated May 14, 2021) is classified on NHTSA's website as impacting all G-Class vehicles 2019 - 2021.
There have been other forum threads about owners experiencing rear doors opening while driving.
