Stop Sale at VPC

Stop sale in general means that the manufacturer has found a safety issue and no more of those vehicles can be sold at the dealer until it is fixed. Likely they will hold vehicles at the port to avoid the chance of a vehicle slipping through.
Usually it’s a bigger deal when vehicles are easily available but for the G63 it’ll be easy to control since there aren’t many sitting around waiting for buyers.
Will be interesting to see what they find out especially for those who have already taken delivery.

No - there isn't a "Stop Sale" - however recent G63 arrivals at VPC have been received into VPC - then placed on "VPC Delayed" within 2 days after VPC receipt.
If a Dealer looks into NetStar - and your Rig shows VPC Received today - that's "normal" with no issue - however they would need to check each of the following 2 days after VPC receipt to catch the update to "VPC Delayed".
Once marked VPC Delayed - the Dealer does not have any more detail in NetStar - if the Dealer goes to the next step of calling Mercedes "Distribution" - who has a different Portal into the VPC - often Distro won't have a specific reason either.
Normally, a VPC Delay like what this one seems to be - most often is a software/systems update/refinement that VPC needs to implement on the Rig's before release - in the case of each Update takes about 2 1/2 hrs per rig - getting the Contract Tech's to the VPC and they start working thru the issue.
Just trying to help..

Hope you're not on the west coast - There's a monster snow storm moving in from the Pacific that's expected to shutdown everything west of Kansas over the weekend and into next week.

My 2021 order is on ‘Sirius Highway’ vessel. It got to Baltimore 3/9 and now is on its way to Brunswick with an ETA of 3/13 (today).
My dealer (Park Place MB Dallas) states they have a couple G63’s which have been held up at the port for over a month now and the higher ups will not answer as to why. I’m being hopeful that mine will be a “usual” delivery rather an irregular hold up.
We should keep this thread alive and individually update when deliveries make progress to keep all in the loop. It is absurd that MB doesn’t have a customer portal where all communication can be centrally managed and to make things easier on their loyal customers, not to mention allow us to stop wasting salesman’s time asking repetitive info....just my .02.

My G63 arrived in Long Beach California on March 4th on Centarus Leader and is "VPC Delayed" as of yesterday March 12th. Dealer told me that its probably some type of software update and they have no idea when it will be released.. If anyone has any info or gets the vehicle, please keep us all informed....fingers crossed!

Now this is almost funny - "my salesman today and he said they are doing a quality control audit on all G's and will probably be another week until it gets released" - it let's you know that Salesman is a "tale-spinner"

If this an NHTSA safety hold, these vehicles could be in limbo for a long time. Vehicles can't be delivered to customers until a fix is identified and implemented. MB is probably as busy exploring the possibility of applying 2022 pricing to the G's for when they get delivered as they are working the quality fix. The quality problems and defects that forum members discuss here are really disgraceful for a vehicle costing $150K+ coming from "the world's finest car maker".
