Stop Sale at VPC

don’t hold your breath, they won’t know anything and if they did, they wouldn’t tell you.

The legal rationale is a dealer cannot sell a vehicle having known defects without incurring liability. When the defect is identified after the car is legally yors, the dealer has an obligation to offer repair but cannot force you to accept the offer. The more interesting issue is that a car manufacturer is not required (yet) to equip cars with such communications capabilities, but when such a system is provided it must function as advertised. It would be easy to sue over a malfunctioning crash locating system. We're all idiots and need more laws that protect us from ourselves.

I spoke to my dealer today and got bad news...hopefully they are wrong or communicating the worst case scenario, but MBUSA told them the delay is for an actual part, (chip or hardware), not just a software update and the missing part is backlogged due to Covid and the expected date for release of my G63 is Mid May. BTW, my G63 has been at the port since March 3rd

My 2021 G 63 sat at the VPC for over 5 weeks waiting on EPA certification, so I don’t know what to tell you.

2020 G550...got the recall notice Monday this week. I think the dealer did it when I had it in for A service but I plan to try to do it over the air myself this weekend. Has to do with location in event of notification of accident.

While all of you are awaiting information about your G delivery, here's a guy awaiting Jeep repairs.

21 G63 arrived in Baltimore Marxh 11th
My 21 G63 arrived in Baltimore on March 11th via the Lavender Ace. Based on this thread, I'm guessing I won't see it for several weeks to months. I'm in Louisville, KY. Anyone here canceling their order and moving on to the '22?

A mechanical issue that would require replacement of parts just for the G would seem much worse IMO.
And yes, software can crash anything

There seems to be confusion and ambiguity about this NHTSA 21V058 recall. The industry press reported 1.3 million MB's of nearly every class across years 2016 - 2021. The NHTSA Part 573 Safety Recall Report document lists G63 and G550 SUV's only for years 2017 - 2020. With this and recent posts from MY2021 owners who have inquired and found no pending recall(s), the current hold on all the G's does seem to be something other than 21V058.
