Hey guys

I took delivery of a 2021 G550. I wanted to replace all the chrome emblems with black gloss emblems. I already changed the front star on the grill. Is the star on rear spare tire a sticker? As i am seeing some online as a sticker and some with sticker and prongs, which one is correct ?Any technic on how to apply these badges ( “V8” “G550” and spare tire star) so they are completely straight.
any links of where to buy these emblems and a tutorial on how to apply will be greatly appreciated

Check out my thread (search on "Desert Silver") and you will see that is just one of the many mods I have done. But yes, the rear MB Star is a 3D emblem held on with 3M tape, which I bought off ebay.

 

Searched the forum and am looking for a reliable source for replacement badges on the sides for my G63. I have the same PPF issue above and I now have a V8 i turbo :-)

Anyone have a good source for high quality replacement badges?

I bought a black wheel cover star via ebay and returned it because it was cheap and flimsy. Can you recommend one or more sellers of quality emblems?

Thx - BTW the emblem I returned was from www.natalexauto.com. Its website makes its products sound premier, but the star I received (from China) looked like a Cracker-Jack toy. On top of that, my CC info was stolen the same day I placed the order (I can't confirm the theft resulted from that transaction, but I highly suspect it was).

 

Are you referring to the steering wheel star? If so I got mine from a seller in Turkey and had it painted black.

 

No - I was referring to the spare wheel cover emblem. I 3D printed one of better quality than Natalex, but decided to have one custom machined (currently being manufactured). I'll post some pics when it's finished.

 

Cool. I bought a new one for the spare tire as well as the side emblems. I had the rear one painted to match the exterior (Desert Silver) as well as the one on the grill and wheel centers.

 

I wanted the grill emblem black also, and considered having it painted, but found a genuine MB black star for about $70, and snapped it up. I now have an extra silver grill star, and am looking for a matching neck chain, hoping that 60's medallion meme returns.

 

Do you guy know if Mercedes makes the emblems in black? I would like to change the g550 and the side ones. I already changed the front star.
