G550 markups?
Seeing several new G550s on the ground become available. Many appear to be abandoned orders. I've been quoted markup anywhere from $25k to $40k while the car does not move for days/weeks. I know of a low mile used 19 that has sat at dealer since Feb with $15k markup. Enquired a while back with an MSRP offer and got a lecture on G market, however still in inventory 2 months later. Anyone seeing anything trading close to MSRP? Was happening on G550s last year at times. Is demand that hot still? Every available one is definitely not moving same day/pre delivery etc. at least in some parts of the country and G buyers are generally open to long distance purchases. At some point some dealer is going to be holding something they are in too deep on no? Is used wholesale still above MSRP? 63s are another story of course

However, G 550 demand is nowhere near G 63 levels. You can probably find someone who would order one for you @ MSRP with only a few months wait.

Don't believe the speculation that runs rampant on this board. No one has conducted a survey to know the answer to your question. Also don't believe the stated MSRP prices on cars.com etc... Dealers know what other dealers are doing and 3 or 4 corporations own 60% of all Mercedes franchises. Just call around and ask.

Here is my direct experience having just purchased a G550 at MSRP. If it is sitting on the lot and ready for purchase expect to pay $5-15k over. If you place an order for a few months out then you can definitely get MSRP. Build wait times right now are between 3-9 months Obviously this highly varies by market...

It is not a gimmick, but make sure you use a good installer that uses good products - all my vehicles are coated with OptiCoat Pro, after and on top of PPF of course...I use Suntek.
