Hey everyone,
So, I got screwed over by a dealer that had agreed to sell to me for MSRP back in October. After 6 months of constant communication, they basically said there was no car for me out of the blue. Now I'm back to square one after wasting months. I understand that the market is even hotter now than just 6 months ago so I know finding one for MSRP will be difficult. I'm hoping that someone may have some leads for a G63 with Night Package between MSRP and 15K over.

You can check cargurus.com, but most of what's there is either sold or waiting for someone wiling to pay MSRP + $50K+. We're all bidding against each other, folks -- it's called free market capitalism. If VINs and zip codes are important to you, bite your lip and write the check.

Ordered a G63 in May, got it by July at MSRP.

It's definitely worth it. Poster can sell it for way over MSRP+ $15k on the used market.

 

Finally able to order my G63 today. Mid-September build date. New Base price is $179,000.

 

Congrats! Did you just get the allocation today, and it’ll be a 2022? September build date traditionally suggests January delivery.

 

It will be a 2022 and my dealer predicts mid-October Delivery date.

Okay gotcha. I misspoke earlier I meant to say November delivery. I was thinking September allocation would be January delivery.

At any rate one month delivery after build may be optimistic.

 

I can share but I've been on his list to order for over a year, there are 10 people behind me, and he only gets approximately 1 G550 and 1 G63 every other month.

 

I don't disagree but after a year wait already, what's another month or two?

True! So what’s your build going to be? I miss talking specs on this forum, it’s been nothing but talking about ADMs and lack of MBUX for the past 10 months haha.

 

Is there a rule that we're not allowed to name dealerships on the forum? So many threads about dealers doing the wrong thing. If there are no repercussiions, then its only going to keep happening. I daresay a large majority of G owners/prospective buyers read forums like this to make decisions. If MB realizes the crap these dealers are pulling is actually affecting sales, they might put an end to the price gouging.

What probably happened was that your build slot was given to some one who was willing to pay more MSRP. Did you have a PO number with your name on the order form or was the order form with the dealers info? The contract as I found out is non-binding, so the communication back and forth really means nothing, its just business and with limited supply they are just trying to make the most buck for their time. Your options would of either been building a 'relationship' with the dealership over a long time, with multiple purchases. Or Agree to pay more over MSRP. Either way your best bet is to place an order simultaneously with 3-4 different dealerships and see which one does you right for the budget you have set.

Im thinking we need to build a site that lists all dealers and their asks over MSRP. Keep them honest, and keep people in the know with what dealers do. But yeah, good luck getting any one under MSRP.
