Local dealer called and wanted my 2021 G63

Got a call from one of my local MB dealers, really good people, bought a few Mercedes from them.

Even was on the list and they offered me a G63 back in November for MSRP, but already had my built to order from another dealer not local.

Anyways, I got a call from my sales guy out of the blue and asked if I wanted a November allocation built to order how I want it. I think it still would be a 2021, but not sure.

So, I don't really know what I should do since I've only had mine for like 4 months, but I'm pretty sure they're gonna offer me like 25-30k over what I paid for it, and I already have a good chunk of mine paid off so it might actually be a good idea to just trade it for basically the same vehicle, but maybe I'll do a different color instead of Arabian Gray and take another 30k off of my loan.

But I have to make sure it makes financial sense, cause if not there is no point since nothing is changing from G to G.

Have any of you had this situation?

Well, at this point there won't be a 2022 G wagen, so if you can get a new one and get a good price for your current one you might want to do it.
December is end of production for the 21's.

I take a new one every-time my dealer calls and offers me one....

I have standing order with them, any time one comes up I will buy it and trade my used one back to them....pretty much trade a used one for new each time

Do you lose money at all? Only reason I’d do it since it’s a same year and no changes but color is off I got more than I paid.

im guessing they can sell mine for 240-250k and offer me a new one at msrp And keepe as a good local customer and it’s a win win for them

Are you saying the dealer is offering you a November allocation bto at MSRP and wants your 2021 G63 now and will pay you $20K+ more than you paid for it?

I mean that's what I'm thinking.? Last time I spoke with him last year they told me they don't do ADM on them, but who knows. I shoot him a text and see.

If the dealer really offers you $25-30k over sticker and guarantees you delivery in November I would do it for sure. However, I'd be surprised if the dealer offers that much over for trade-in to be honest.

My plan is to trade in every 1-2 years and reset the miles and hopefully go cost neutral like Izzone.

Don't do it, you may not get another. Over on the W213 AMG section they are posting that Mercedes has cancelled all the V8 AMG's for 2022 including G wagons.
Looks like Jalopnik picked that up too. https://jalopnik.com/mercedes-benz-w...amg-1847484393

Is this confirmed or just rumored? I can't find anything official but if it is I may chase down a g63 this weekend even if I have to pay a semi unreasonable ADM... they'll sell next year for whatever you pay.

This news is circulating, now it's all v8's except for the s580. Not verified just speculation I read on Reddit.

I mean I'll only do it when I know their allocation is on it's way to the dealership. Wouldn't trade mine in without getting the new one that day.

the V8 cancellation does not affect 2021 models. They are extending the 2021 assembly line until the end of the year for the G I heard.
If he's telling you it's a 2021 it's probably safe?

Oh yea, it's a 2021 not the 2022.

Only reason I'd do it considering I have a 2021, is that they give me more than I paid, and they give me the new one at MSRP.

That way it reduce my loan my 20-30k and I'd pay it off much sooner.

Or Mercedes decides to cut the 21's short and you wind up with no car. I would not feel to comfortable with the way things are these days. Either way it's not my choice, good luck with your decision.

I mean that's what I'm gonna do, lol.

Wouldn't trade it in if I didn't have the new one in my hand.

Yeah seems like a no-brainer then. Upgrade to a newer vehicle and make $20-30k. What's there to think about?? Lol

Just got an e-mail and it is at MSRP, so if they give me a good trade in value, then it's a no brainer.

So they are going to wait for yours until the new one is built? If that the case then definitely a no brainer. I would part with my 2021 E63S for 30 over in a heart beat. $30,000 is a fraction of $ I have waisted over my lifetime on cars haha.

Even if they offer you MSRP in trade for MSRP I'd do it to be honest. Basically you can drive it from now until November for free, assuming your state allows you to save on sales tax.
