g63 allocation?
#2
Markups are skyrocketing due to recent news that there will likely be no G63 for 2022. I've offered 11 dealers MSRP +$30k in the last 2 days and most dealers are marking up between $60k and $100k. I found one that will do a deal for $50k over. Liklihood of finding an existing allocation for a 2021 build is nearing zero. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but its rough out there.

Dealer got final allocation on Friday and I was taken off of the list going into production in December. Problem is what I configured is nothing like what I am getting according to the build sheet the dealer sent me. Dealer says she thinks most of what I ordered is unavailable since mine is late December production which is why they dropped the mango paint, manufaktur leather, night package etc..
Can this be right?
I’m getting a very basic G63 and am pissed.

There is some truth about magno being limited for each round of allocations, but I haven't heard of the leather or night package being limited.
Are you going to keep the 2020 and flip the new one?

I ran into a similar situation last week. The night package plus is not available on certain colors.
I was able to select just about everything I wanted except the night package plus.
IF I were purchasing a G550 instead, there were many more options that weren’t available.
it’s a shame you can’t get what you want given your probably paying a stiff premium.

I am having a similar issue. I placed my order in January. My dealer says I am “next in the order bank” but doesn’t want to guarantee it will come before December. Not offering much info, has anyone else had this issue? Does he not want to make false promises or not know anything

If your dealer placed an order the dealer system allows the dealer to track that order until the car is built and shipped. I placed an order in September and have followed the process through my sales rep through today. My G just went "red" (no changes allowed) and has a third decade build date in November (third week)." False promises" is a "false statement" from your dealer. Time to move on (unfortunately, you won't find an allocation now). Good luck.

There’s still hope. I’m not sure exactly how it works but I was “on the list” like you until a few days ago when I finally got my PO# from the dealer. According to my saleswoman, that was the last round of allocation they got so I was lucky.

If it doesn't go into production by December 31st it won't be built. Your dealer should be able to give you a build date since you ordered so long ago. The dealer software should have your name assigned to an allocation. My dealer sales rep has shared the screen with me and it is quite detailed. It is probably restricted to internal use only because it shows all orders and allocations across the entire product line for that particular dealership. I have been doing business with this dealership for many years and this is my third G (among many other cars) so I'm sure I receive different treatment. Never been charged an admin fee. At this stage of the game, based on your initial order date, you should definitely be able to get a build date from the dealer. Good luck.

After seeing your post, I thought I should check in with my dealer today. Sure enough, same exact thing happened to my build. I was so excited after getting my PO# last week, with a build scheduled for 12/1 and now it looks I’m going to have to settle for something I don’t want or wait till they start producing the ’23s. He’s trying to see if there’s anything that can be done but doubtful.
We tried running through a few different build alternatives but it looks like there’s no more Night Black Magno, no Night Package 1 and no diamond stitching available for the rest of the ‘21 builds.
So bummed after being so close.

There are (20) G63's for the US that are still "Scheduled" for December 10-20 Production.
Each of these are still "Green" meaning open to Factory Changes - any Dealer Change Request are subject to Graz/Factory acceptance.

I was at my dealership today for A service and they had one G class (not AMG) sitting on the showroom floor with a sold sign. My rep told me when the vehicle came in, management said $50K over list- no negotiation. They got their price and it is just waiting for the buyer to pick it up.
