Got my 2021 G63 allocation for Dec
I received my 2021 allocation for my G63. The GM called and said they were only getting one allocation in. So it will be a Dec build as a 2021 and should arrive sometime in Jan. I have been on the list for quite a while. I am not sure what is going to follow or of the time line of what will be following. I was wondering if anyone else has a build coming in this last quarter of 2021.

Congrats it's good to hear allocations are still trickling in.
Confirm that you have a purchase order number and if so you are good to go. Hopefully the dealer doesn't play any games with the pricing.
Basically now you tweak your build until it locks in, then wait for it to be built, get a VIN number, get a ship name and track it across the ocean, then take delivery. On average it takes about 2 months between allocation and build and 2 months between build and delivery.

Very good--I figure you must be a great customer for the GM to call you directly!
Yes be aware that the Magna Steyr factory usually locks in builds sometime during the yellow phase unlike other Mercedes', so try to have the build finalized in the next couple of weeks.
Glad to hear there are dealers still doing MSRP!

Thank you again for your info. Thats the biggest reason I come to the site. To learn and be in the know from those who do. If someone wants to learn guitar, then give me a shout lol. Yes, there are some good dealers out there. And it helps huge to get along if one has been treated well. The GM is a real up and up guy and friendly.

Hello all, i am in the same boat. I was next on the list and received a PO and a build slot for December. However in Netstar the dealer showed me the status showing A4 and planned decade was 21/12-3 and shows a Decade Scheduled value of 22/09-1 and says estimated prod date of 09/10/2022. Is there any reason to believe in any way that it would still be produced in December 21? The strange thing is the Model on the PO is still a 2021 G63W4. Right now, I am very confused.

I also have a build date for December. I'm not convinced that these late in the year orders will be built and if they are, the delivery dates are going to be pushed out well into '02. I'm trying to be positive but have been looking at other models in the product line. This will be my third G and I know there isn't much that can compare to this unique vehicle. So like many on the forum I'm hoping the deal materializes. It is at MSRP because I have a long standing relationship with the dealer covering almost twenty years and many purchases and referrals. Stay tuned.

I'm also a former Porsche guy but their SUV's don't do it for me. I do need a utility vehicle because my other cars are...well...small. I'm hoping for the best. I regret parting with my '20 G but that deal was too good to pass up. Good luck with your order.

Seems like lots of Mercedes people love the P brand as well. I was thinking of not an SUV but another 911 variant. But good luck with yours as well. If it happens, pics will always follow. (:

For "Dec Upside" G's -
1. The Good News is Magna is the ONLY factory that has been producing exactly what they have committed to make - on schedule to their Stated Build Date
2. Dealers who say for G's "NetStar Green Status Means Specs Can Be Changed" - "Yellow Status Can Be Changed - But Quickly".
Please understand that DOES NOT APPLY to G-Wagens.
ANY PO/Spec change to ANY G-Wagen PO is subject to Magna Acceptance - and Don't Be Surprised if Magna says No - Magna does NOT go by Green-Light/Yellow-Light
If a submitted PO change request will risk any disruption to Magna's committed Build Schedule - and Magna will Not Be Shy to say NO
If you have a Dec build - request a Change Monday - so at least you will know if that is Accepted or Not
3. The "Actual Price On Delivery" MOST OFTEN will be Different than the Discussed or "Committed" Order Price.
It's unfortunate - but true - frankly most Metro dealers who have incoming 2021 G63s have Salesmen actively working to sell That G63 to a backup customer (or customers) For More.
When your G63 arrives - and you don't accept the Dealer's Adjusted Price for Delivery - they will politely refund your deposit and sell to that Next Buyer.
Sorry - that's what is already happening in Metro areas already.
A New G63 on-the-ground-today - can be sold by a Dealer located anywhere in the US - at $60K over MSRP ("Market Adjusted Price) in 2-3 days.
customer willing to pay more.

My salesman told me on 9/2/21 that MB was not making V8s right now and that it would be a couple of months before they state making Gwagens again. MB sent a letter to dealerships advising them of that. Anyone hear about that?

The feeling is that we are about a year away from seeing some V8 models again.

Yes it does. I finally sat down with my GM here again. I asked if I was still msrp as promised, he said yes of course. They want to maintain their reputation as well. This guy is solid from the years I have known him. And there will be no surprise add on pricing. He did say though it would be October to hear anything for the Dec build. But it is still locked in for the allocation.

I've been informed by the dealer that my order has moved to "scheduled not produced" with an October build date. There is so much speculation on these trucks I don't know what to believe anymore. Just hoping for the best.

U know what I did, went out and got another fishing pole today lol. I will not even think about the G if the Walleye are biting. Come October I will know and if things get weird then so be it. If things get real, as I think they will. Yayyyy! Fishing really is good Joo Joo to relieve G wagon "stress" and F does come before G (:/

Well the fish brought good luck. lol. I put everything out of my head after yesterday. Then today I get a call today from my salesperson at Mercedes. He wanted me to sign off on my order build. He then gave it to the the GM and he has submitted the build to Mercedes. I now have a PO number. (:
